Accord 4-cylinder performance

I think the Accord V6 performance market will catch on now that the Prelude is out and the Accord Coupe is trying to take up the slack. The 5-speed automatic Accord 4-cylinder is supposed to offer brisk acceleration (0-60mph under 8.9 seconds) plus mid 2x city/33 hwy fuel EPA ranked economy. Whew, it was only a decade ago when luxury cars like the Infiniti J30, Mazda 929, Nissan Maxima with the 160hp V6,BMW 525i, Acura Vigor with thirsty 5- and 6-cylinder engines - and some claim about good performance - needed 9.0 to 9.6 seconds to go from 0-60 mph.
