Around the beginning week of july, i was watching MSNBC or Fox news or whatever, and saw one of those scrollers that said, Nissan recalls 170,000 cars that are 96 &98 models of the Infiniti Qx4, i-30, maxima, ect.

What were the recalls for? I never went to find out, but i figured someone on here would know.

p.s. I have a 1998 maxima

 

I am guessing you are referring to the recall on the alternator on 97 models. They can start a fire. I dont know of any for the 98.

 

actualy i didnt know they were for 97- i got my 98 replaced

 

Its for some later build 97's and early 98's.

 

basically i just need to talk to my local nissan dealer to find out whether or not my car is affected?
