It's alive!!! 5spd conversion complete
Chock up another successful 5spd conversion. Started up the car tonight, purrs like a kitten. ACT clutch is a little rough when starting out, but I'll just have to wait till it breaks in... 5spd VLSD with only 7k miles on it, tranny works like a dream, though the short shifter is a little notchy. Writeup and pictures soon. Thanks to everyone who helped me out.

Thanks. Yesterday morning the tranny was sitting on a jack. I couldn't get any help till after 5pm, and I really wanted to get it running, so I just put it back in by myself. It's a little bit harder with only one person, but I got it running!!!!
Oh yeah, worth all the trouble x1000

Total out of pocket cost for me should end up at less than $500, so I paid $14.5k for a 97 with only 28k miles and a 30k mile warranty almost two years ago, okay with me...

Yeah, after I hit about 15mph my CEL came on. I ran all the codes and they are all for the tranny. I'll get a new ecu when money permits, but I don't really care about it right now... I'm more worried about getting the reverse lights to work...

I'll come over and help you figure it out sometime, if you like.
Maybe tomorrow after 5?
