Surprised a 330! but still got beat.

Man i cant believe it! I was cruising down a beach blvd in my 99SE AUTO near the LA area and this lowered 330i coupe manual pulls by really fast, so i tease him by stepping on it a little. Were at a light and separated by a big truck in the mid lane so i dont see him. The light turns green and i step on it and aparently he does too and I gain about a car lead by 70mph! just around then, he pulls on me really fast and overtakes me at around 80 like crazy! Man do those cars have topend! I think i had a better start or he didnt shift well tho b/c theres no way i could fair and square beat a manual 330i like that! esp with an automatic!! Still, i bet i scared/surprised that bimmer driver!

I think he was playing with you...only at the end did he floor it. Stick 330s are fast, they run like 14.6 or something.

manuals are pretty fast but anyone know about 3 series autos?? i ran with one with my 99 auto and over took him easily. we were driving down the Grand Central Parkway and i was right on his ***. a fair amount of traffic. anyways i saw an open lane (actually 2)to the left of me, so i took it, apparently he had an open lane for himself in front of him we both floored it, i switched to the left and had to switch back to the lane i was before. and i did, and i beat him to it by a car's length and he was stuck in traffic in his own lane and couldn't switch in time. oh well, i was happy haha

maybe he just got the car or something but yea a 330Ci manual can pull hard on Autos and us sticks too but I bet you did surprise them... BMW people think since they paid 40K that they are automatically the fastest cars on the road because they're car was parked next to an M5 at the dealer....

I've raced a 330Ci auto.. hehe my friend she was oh so ****ed at the results because I took her up until 80 where we stopped
and raced my friends Dinan 330i... basic Dinan mods and auto repeated the same thing as the 330 but he did have two extra people in the car

havent come across any 330Ci manuals ready to race... I handed a riced up 323Ci auto its a$$ before

I think I would get beaten by a fair margin by a manual.... maybe.. 1/4 time sounds kinda show but oh well 100+ they haul ***

Psssssssh

not to make to much of a smlal thing..

3 Series BMW's aren't anything special...

Yes they are super nice, we have a 2k1 5series and just love it, but the engine they pack aren't anything to special...

Have yet to lose to a 3 series (m3 not counted)
323
325
330... raced all, beat 'em all
330 must have been a auto becasue ti didn't put up much of a fight

Messed around with my friend's 330 auto once and we were on the highway so it was mostly top end and he did start to really pull on me past 100 but my stock auto kept up pretty well.
