My service light was on so I got it checked and found out I needed a new rear o2 sensor. I got the part today from courtesy, it looks like you just put the new one in and plug it in, is it that easy? I don't even know where it goes, should I just pay the $50 and let the experts do it? thanks

 

then you can change the O2 sensor. It is very easy, just jack up the car or drive it up ramps, make sure the exhaust manifold and pipes are cool to the touch and all you have to do is unplug the O2 sensor from the top of the engine compartment, unscrew the O2 sensor and replace, very easy, you can do it in 30 minutes and save yourself the $50. I agree with Julian, about this being a job the home mechanic can do. However, the Haynes manual says the sensor will be easier to remove if the exhaust system is warm. It also recommends the application of anti-sieze compound to the threads of the new sensor. Some sensors have the anti-sieze applied by the factory.
