I have a 1986 SE and want to know if you could please validate something for me. When you press down on the drivers side door lock, all the doors lock. If you go to the power lock button, does your driver door lock or unlock with the switch? Mine does not, and I wanted to know if I needed to replace the power door lock controller under the drivers seat. Any help would be appreciated. This is my fifth Max ('89, '93, '95 and I still own an '01) All of them SE's but this is the only one I have experienced this issue on. Thanks for your help.

 

whats up, i also have an '86 max and the locks work the same way as yours, thats the way they are supposed to. The power door lock switch on the driver door controls all the door locks except the driver door( go figure!) I personally like the way it works on my 97SE better, contolling all 4 door locks, just makes more sense to me. -peace

 

That's odd. They must have changed it for the 87-88's cause my '88 locks all of the doors, including the driver's.

I have an 86se since new and that is the way it works, guess Nissan saved big time on that one door actuator. ha
