what do you think of the eatricezone brake deal.

I am looking at replaceing my brakes and was looking at getting the deal from eatricezone for $575. I was just thinking of getting the rotors and pads but now thinking of the whole kit since is just a little bit more. Has anybody bought this deal? Do you like it?

No disrespect to Phuong and crew, but if you are interested in just getting pads and rotors, there is a rotor group deal going on for a set of 4 for $200 plus shipping. Search the GD section for details. I've heard good things about both deals though!

I almost got in on this deal, but the rotors are silvery and dimpled and don't look that great to me on darker cars. I'd prefer the Stillen rotors that are Brembo blanks, cross-drilled, and are a nice golden color. Even after the gold wears off, it's a nice metallic color that I prefer to the cad plating.

I Highly Recommend Them!

4th gen guy here. I just put that brake kit on my car. There awsome! Silky smooth, stop much better then stock. I only did the rotors and pads, I didn't get the SS lines or fluid. I did flush my whole system out with new fluid when I did the job. I took everything apart, greased, cleaned & painted my calipers. Made a huge difference in looks and performance. For the $$, you can't go wrong.

I agree with you on the color, but its performance that counts the most for me. The main reason I'm choosing these rotors is that you can get them slotted ONLY, without the dimples and you cannot get slotted only from the Phuong's package for a 5th gen. Plus all the info I've read supports slots over drilled rotors. Can't beat the price either! Good luck either way though. Match a good set of rotors up with Porterfield pads and you're likely to be highly satisfied.

Woud these kinds of brake setups prevent brake lock ups?
My brakes locked up big time while slowing down from 0-110 run, and I slid like 30 feet. Ever since then, my brakes doesnt feel as "grabby" as before. Its probably due to many factors.. My pads are almost worn out too.

Anyways, I dont have ABS. Will upgraded brakes not lock up at all?

Any car without ABS will lock up under the right circumstances, regardless of the brake system. The only way to prevent it is to retrofit an ABS or become superhuman at modulating the brake pedal under very hard braking.

I thought drilled are better slotted.

Your brakes are outperforming the friction coefficient of the tires...your only hope is better rubber and/or larger tires to swing the pendulum in the other direction.

remember.. stotted/drilled = pretty, but no one will turn them for you should you ever need it. I'm not a big fan of turned rotors, so its a moot point for me, but you should know that they arent really servicable by *most* shops.

Why would somebody sell something if you can't get your money's worth out of it. But like to said most shops, you just have to find one that does.

? I didnt say anything of the sort. I would love to have the stillen rotors. And they wont warp, so having them turned is really not much of an issue. But I've heard from many AutoX-ers that brake shops wont turn drilled/slotted rotors. I dont know what kind of contacts you have, but I have to assume that if some of the more car obsessed people I know cant find a shop, neither can I.

Again, most of you would rather get new rotors than turn them, I'm with ya on that one.. but I'm only saying, dont be surprised if you cant get them serviced. Not saying *you* cant, just saying dont be surprised if not.

Does anyone know if this brake kit works on the 2k2's?? I know it says 5th gen. however there are many items that work on 2k/2k1 and not on a 2k2.

There are plenty of shops that will try and sell you an item that you do not need. I know of cases of non turbo 300ZXs running around with the duel intake setup even though the single intake can flow sufficiently up to 450-500 hp..

For street use, drilled/slotted is not much of an issue. You will not go through enough heat cycles to worry about warping issues. As long as they are broken in properly, torqued within specs, and not sprayed on with cold water when hot, you should not run into problems.

I should have bought this kit but instead I saw the dimpled/slotted rotor deal and was tempted. I was about to purchase those rotors from raceconcepts but I started seeing posts about a clicking noise some of the members were experiencing. Some, not all..I just didn't want to deal with it.

I wound up buying all the components seperately, RS4 from Porterfield. SS lines, and fluid from eatricezone.com like a month ago. Finally today I ordered the the Stillen cross drilled from eatrice. Had I ordered the complete kit I would have saved money.

Get everything in one shot. Phuong from eatrice is real cool and ships out very fast.
