Where is the OBDII connector and what protocol

Where is the OBDII connector on the 97 maxima? Also does anyone know what protocol it uses for data transmission? I can read, VPW, PWM, and ISO-9141.
Thanks, i'm going to go out and check out a car....is there a list of codes that i can print out to take with me to determine if its ok to buy the car?

I don't know what protocol it is, but the connector is under the drivers side, right below the fuse panel area.

The connector is next to the passenger footwell in the center console, the plug next to the fuse block is the Nissan CONSULT connector. The protocol is ISO 9141.

I hate to even think this, but did you get your Apex'i unit stolen? I was thinking about getting the S-AFC installed and tuned at XS Engineering and they were telling me all the places you can mount the unit since the height is a din size and the length is 3/4's of a din size. One of the workers there told me he use to have a lot of the Apex'i units (RSM, AVC, etc) out on display in his RX-7. One day someone stole them all. He suggests that you hide them in the glove box, in the arm rest, or somewhere out of sight for thieves. The dumb thing he was telling me was that the units are no good without the harness and the harness can only be obtained at Apex. I wish Apex'i would encode a security device similar to the Eclipse ESN by Fujitsu Ten.
