hell to all. well you will never get to see the super max cuz i sold it. good bye car, ill miss you. now all i have left is a stock 88 with a missing grill. it sucks to return to the ranks of all of you, with your stock cars. now i have to fix this one before the new supermax2 can start. it has no supra tail lights, roll top, body kit, custom hood. nope just a plain white max with a grey hood, old progressive rims and a little white f-1 steering wheel. so to all who didnt belive fck off, to those who did, or want to know how to do similsr mods, let me know and ill tell you, cuz ill be doing them again.

Secondly, why the hell would you keep all of those supposed mods on the car, especially if you coincidently bought another Maxima that's practically the same as your old one?!? Hey, since you've sold that car, I got to sell you. It's an 87 sedan, running a falconer V-12, converted to RWD, with an allison 13 speed tranny, and a 2-speed, lock up rear end. I've lowered it 13", and put 33" wheels and tires on it. It's got a hood from a 49 DeSoto, bumpers from a 59 Caddi, doors from a 27 T-bucket, and a 4" exhaust pipe. I then painted it flourecent greent, with purple sripes, and yellow polke dots.
It's won several first place trophies.

1.. how do you fit a mustang hood on a max? well dumb a$$ you find a mustang hood in a junkyard take it home, following me? good. lay the hood on the ground upside down. cut off all the supports.ok, now flip the hood back over. with a grese pen, draw a line around the hood scoop. leave 2" between the line and the scoop. now with anything that will cut metal, cut out along the line. take the scoop and put them on your maxima hood. every 2in, rivit the scoop to the hood. now thats done, cover up everything with body filler and sand it smooth. whoa. mustang hood on a max!!!!!!

I find the mods to be funny, to say the least. From what you've tried to explain in the past, you were trying to maximize the performance of your car. Well, a little lesson in very basic physics...you're not going to make the car faster by adding weight and drag to the car, shyt-4-brainz! The hood scoop you're stealing from a 'Stang would only add both, in addition to the gobs of putty you're smearing everywhere.
Now I think I understand why you wanted to turbo the car - so you could get it to move at all.
As for the tribal tails. You mentioned taking ANY roll-pan with said lights mounted in them. This should prove interesting, when one purchased isn't straight, and therefore, doesn't match the contours of the rear of the sedans. What do you propose then? Another 20 pounds of bondo?
If you were truely serious about trying to maximze the performance, instead fo all the weight, you would have been busy gutting the interior, disabling and removing the A/C compressor, removing all radio equipment, replacing as much glass as possible with plexi / Lexan. And let's not forget putting his VG on the squeeze.
And then there's the body panels. With the Max being FWD, you'd wanna do whatever you could to try and balance the weight. Like moving the battery to the trunk, and since you've got o much experience doing body work, maybe fabbing some fiberglass front fenders and hood, etc...
Also, in a previous post in another thread, you'd mentiuoned you had your springs cut down 3 inches. First off, this would do nothing for performance. All it would be is an appearance mod that would ride like shyt in the real world. Besides that fact that there's more to handling than just lowering the car. Dropping it down too far is no better than replacing your struts with solid rods, as bsically, your control arms would be bottomed out, with the cross member dragging the ground.
Do you really think the people here are that stupid? I'll be the first to admit that I actually know very little about many of these subjects, but I know bullshyt when I smell it.
You can go ahead and flame me back, for I could care less. I am secure in what I know, and what I am. I just hate those who talk big, but are unable / unwilling to back it up.

hey buddy the roll pan for a mid 50's truck is flat but you already knew that right. so it does fit the contor except at the bottom, so use bondo, or fiberglass which is lighter, rivit the hood together, how eles do it, the scoops are fiberglass, what weld em???? nope, and if you cut out the part under the scoops on the max hood, its bout the same weight, and you can get more air and run cooler so i dont care what collage who ever attends, i know what iam talkin about

Cutting the structure of the original hood, there, huh? Are you bracing it some around the hole? Wouldn't it just be easier to borrow another old, hotrodders trick for a check cowl hood - place washers / spacers between the hood and the hinges to raise the rear edge up some, allowing air in. Since there is always a slight vacuum at the cowl, it will assit in circulating air through the engine bay, without adding extra drag. But of your for the scoop idea, why not go whole hog, and get a snorkle scoop, and rivet/mud that to yer hood, and draw lots of un needed air into the engine bay, creating extra pressure under the hood.
There are two purposes for a functional hood scoop. One, to allow extra air in for cooling, when your stock cooling system is inadequate to allow for proper air flow. The stock Nissan cooling system and design are more than adequate for anything you'll do to a FWD V6 sedan. The other reason is to feed fresh, unheated air to the engine - ala RamAir. You're not doing the second, the the first is not needed for these cars, so basically you're wasting time and money on a project that only increases your wind resistance.
I know, an easier project for you...take a 4X8 sheet of 3/4" thick plywood, and bolt it to your front bumper, like a bill board. Then, sell advertising space. At least this way you'll profit a little bit.
As for your wanting to twin turbo your 'super-turd' max, what gains did you think that would give you? The only benefit to running the twin turbo is to reduce (not, not eliminate) the turbo lag, as the first, smaller turbo will spool up, and provide lower amounts of boost sooner, which helps to compensate for the lag provided by a larger turbo, providing more boost. It doesn't allow better breathing, or anything else...only makes for more plumbing problems.

He really did have all that stuff done to his car... I seen it about 6 months ago at a Maxima Convention. I parked right next to him with my quad-turboed '88 Max I also have a 750-Shot of NOS that helps my times on the 1320 be soo low. I think the last time I ran a 3.25 @ 160mph with an ET of .030 So you guys should really reconsider what you guys said to him.

You can't say ****? Man, that's pretty damn stupid, what if someone's name happens to be ****? Like **** Clark, **** Vitale, **** Butkus, **** Armey, or Andy ****. I hate when people infringe on our First Amendment rights, especially when it gets to the point that you can't even say someone's name without getting censored. This is the 21st century and if people are so offended by words that we have to replace them with ****, they should go back to the Middle Ages (like we all don't know what is getting replaced anyways). Christ, I can offend people to the point that they're ready to kill me, and I don't have to say one "swear word".
