HKS optional set up

Does anyone have instructions on how to set up the HKS intake the optional way (not the one in the instructions)? This setup makes a midpipe with piping that extends from the MAF to the filter itself. I know you have to hook up the filter to the MAF and then place the pipe between the throttle body and MAF. I just need specific instructions...

I completely forgot to reply to you on this, sorry. This is what you will do.

1) Take the HKS provided pipe that houses the air temp sensor and remove it. On this pipe you'll see a large and tall "nipple" that should have been sealed with a rubber cap. This is a vacuum port.

2) Relocate this pipe to where the factory resonator is. This will be your midpipe. You will also be relocating the air temp sensor to behind the MAF (no big deal).

3) There are two 1/2" vacuum lines coming off of each head and they feed into the factory resonator. You will need to buy some extra vacuum line, two 1/2 fittings, and a T-fitting. You will bridge these two vacuum lines as one and feed them to the large nipple on the HKS pipe with the T-fitting. There is also a 1/8" vacuum line that runs to the factory resonator. Simply buy a 1/8" fitting, punch a small hole in one of the large vacuum lines, pop the 1/8" fitting in, and seal it with some silcone glue.

4) You're done

To further simplify things for me a bit. Can you make a numbered list of all the materials I will need to buy when I visit Autozone? Did you notice a diffrence once you set your intake up like this? Oh, and also....do you clean your filter (if so, how)? Or do you replace it like it says in the instructions. I've had mine for about 6k miles now, an I've cleaned it once with just hot water, but I think I'll gain better peformance once I replace it. Thanks Dave B!

I'm taking a similar but slightly diffrent approach. I just purchased and APC breather that will replace the hose leading to the front area. Then I purchased a 3/4 hose to go to the back from the nipple. Will this work as well? I didn't see a small 1/8 hose.
