optima yellow top battery - please help

optima yellow top battery - please help

ok i have a question i have a 95 max and latly it has been dieing on me - so i bought a yellow top battry thinking my battery was dead - i put the new yellow top battry in and my car still wont start - can i use a yellow top - or is it my alternator or starter or somthing else - please help

have you tried jumpstarting the optima? my cousin's needed a jump when he first got his and works fine now.

if battery is good..no start usually means starter is done.

EXACTLY, sometimes batteries loose their intial charge..If you have not tried jumping it, try that first

If you have tried that to no avail..check your grounding points to make sure they are not badly corroed..also take your starter and alternator to autozone they will check them for free

yeah i tried jumping it and all of the connections are fine - it must be the starter i guess - are they expensive?

yes. darn expensive for a new OEM one ($400-700). even the rebuilt one cost $150-300.

wtf?!? go to autozone, tell them you need a starter (remanufactured but it doesnt matter, chances are it will sitll outlive the car) mine was $81 after the core charge (bring yours back in and they refund the money) replacing it is a FREAKIN' EEAASSYY thing to do. heres a link that will help you out.
