I am going to probably have to make this desicion on Thursday to either buy a 98 GXE 5spd with no options or maybe just a few {ABS hopefully}or a 98 Infinity I30 5spd,since the I30 would cost about $5K more then a 98 Max,I could save the 5K and drop a SC in the 98 Max,so what would you guys rather have a SC Max or a I30 with just all the boltons but N/A??Help me out.

 

Get the Max, and slap in that supercharger. Since you saving yourself $5k. However, if you like the I30 more, and planning to keep this car for awhile, maybe get the I30. And save up some more money and get the supercharger for the I30 later on. If it was me, I probably get the I30, I really like the looks of it. Morever, if you fix up the I30, you'll be in a select group. Sure, you see fixed up Maximas out there, but how many fixed up I30s do you see? Not many I would guess. Wow, I wish I had the money to be deciding which car to get like you.

 

i am just curious what's wrong with the Max you have now?
i mean, if you want to upgrade and move up to something better, that's one thing. what's up with spending money for the samething just a lil newer?

 

upgrade a car with the 3rd of the miles like a 98 Max with 30K for only a few grand more makes sense to me,and a 98 I30 with a 3rd of the miles I consider a big upgrade.Also I have always wanted a SC but I did not get one because I had to many miles and if I get the a newer low mileage Max I will ba able to do that with far less worry.

 

if you could get the gxe with the c/c package i'd go for the s/c max..

 

I get the I30. Its a much nicer car than a gxe maxima. The I30 offers standard goodies such as a power driver and passenger seats, a better warranty, ABS, simulated wood interior trim, automatic climate controls, variable intermittent wipers, keyless entry and security system, heated outside mirrors, and cargo netting; all stuff you can get on the Maxima at extra cost. Exclusive to the I30 are items like speed-sensitive steering, viscous limited slip differential, chrome accents, simulated leather door trim, integrated HomeLink transmitter, dual map lights, automatic anti-glare rear view mirror, map pockets, cellular phone pre-wiring and green tinted glass.

BTW ABS is only an option on the SE & GLE on the 4th gen maximas.

If I had to decide between those two cars I would pick the I30t. I like the styling much better than the 4th gen max, and you get VLSD, something that can be very usefull if you are going SC.
