Ran a new best time today and again broke the NA MPH record!!

I went to New england dragway today. The weather was ok at 75 degrees.
I arived at the track late today so I only got in 2 runs (damn it!). I put my stock tires on and I had my stock springs(long story there) on in front today and I finaly fixed all the bugs in my car. I had 1/3 tank of gas, spare tire and all where in the car.

Heres my slip on my first run of the night!

R/T. .495
60'. 2.383
330. 6.231
1/8. 9.348
MPH. 79.14
1000 12.022
1/4. 14.285
MPH. 99.46

I was pretty happy with this time especialy considering the fact that my 60 foots are still crummy. I was really hopeing to see a 2.2 60' but this was still great. My car feels very good!

I also ran a 14.363 @ 98.65 MPH with a 2.313 60'. I dont know why this run was slower with the better 60', hmm..

In clsosing I am happy t finaly beat Steves best time!

come on man. We're on the verge of something great here. emax put on a ypipe, and he might even be putting on a Z manifold, if things and dollars work out... I am so excited about this... This is yet another unchartered territory for the Max community, and emax is leading it. Say something encouraging.

Redlighted?

He still ran the 14.2. And at Rockingham a .495 is not a redlight. So, ina sense he didn't redlight.

With that mph you are a 13 second car if you can get that 60' down a little. I managed a 2.176 60' but only a 14.769 et @ 92.57 mph. You are making the hp to do the job. Congratulations!

What does redlight mean?

I figure anything over 95 approaching 100 mph in the 1/4 mile is pretty darn fast. Good deal!

here on the north east coast .500 is a perfect light.. he lucky they printed hte damn slip for him.. some times etown doesn't even give you times.. they just put red lighted so he has to go try again and this time wait for that .500 .. so it sitll doesn't count .. he redlighted.. you notice confused ain't saying nothing?

You ran what you ran redlight or not. Your time is very good, and with a trap speed of 99.46MPH you are definitely capable of high 13's, good job.

Yeah he probably has you on ignore right now. And I can't say I blame him. The R/T has nothing at all to do with the final time. The clock doesn't start until you cross the line. You know this. You also know full well his car is capable of running a 14 donut or a high 13. Lighten up on him a bit dude, he's worked hard on this.

Ethan,

Very impressive...if only the 2k2 Max was introduced with RWD you'd be in the 13's without any doubt...in fact the 2k2 Max would probubly be a dead heat with the 2k2 Gt 5spd stang if it was RWD. Anyways, it just takes some practice with FWD and you will easily be in the 13's...come winter you will probubly be pretty deep into the 13's...hell, with DR's or slicks, you WILL hit 12's n/a!!

....Just to note: I think I can vouch for alot of 4th Gen guys when saying we never really liked the 2k2's styling a whole lot until we saw your car. It is the Brooke Burke of all 5th Gens!

No way your going to run 12s N/A. Ethan will be lucky to run high 13s with his current mods on drag radials. Good times man!!

I don't know guys, with the 3.5 VQs lowend torque advantage, Ethan "could" be looking at 13.6-13.7@100mph with a 2.0 60'. Look at how bad his 60' is. Also, look at how hard he's pulling at the far end. I've run 9.4s@77mph in the 1/8th, but only end up getting 14.6-14.7@96mph+. Ethan is getting slightly better 1/8th and MPHs, but really starts to haul after that. Good job Ethan.

if you were spinning your tires and you run out of mods the next best mod you can do for track use is a set of slicks!!!

if you do get them repost you be should right in the 13's with traction!! so good luck on your quest to 13s and below!!

Also dont redlight!!but be one with the light as Nismo2020 says!!

i'm going for low 12's with drag radial, nos and a Z intake manifold, maybe even 11's. it will happen eventually.

i'll get there, i'm not letting ethan give up on the 350Z manifold and i'm gonna do it too. i don't care what it takes. 250WHP maximas in new england soon to come and then i can tap that baby for DPI nos and be all set i'm gonna have trouble finding slicks to fit over my brakes. i can only use SOME 17's and no 16's. i have to fix my motor mounts first though. i'm 99% sure one of them is blown or at least on it's way out. time to call upon Eric D Wong.

Since some seem so concerned with your redlight, next time just sit there a couple of minutes and make your run.

Here's what I'd like to see:
R/T: 9 minutes
1/4: 13.XX seconds
MPH: 100+

Great job man!

That's a great run Emax!! About that redlight, unless you're actually racing the car next to you, that redlight is irrelevant. (Like Supermacho says, you ran what you ran.) Anyhow, I always guestimated that the 6sp 2K2+ would be at least .5 seconds quicker than my Auto 2K2 in the 1/4 mile.

Congrats on your run.

Damn impressive Emax. Your one of the few I commend for all your work you have put out on trying to get every little HP out of the car. You indeed are a real maxima enthusist.

These 4th gens you speak of have either have slicks , missing seats and of course 2.0-2.1 6-0's. There still slower though Give me a 2.1 60' and I will run 13's no problem..

On the verge huh??? If it doesn't rain tomorrow (which it probably will) The 13's NA title will be held by a 2K2. Some 2K2's are on a closer verge than your beloved 4th Gen.
