H&R + AGX combo was a success.....
after sporting the 4x4 for about a year...and driving around with blown rear struts for about half a year..i finally did the H&R and AGX combo yesterday wit a couple of my friends and my bro....we did very well consideering none of us has ever lowered a car b4 and also, me and my bro are such newbs...the install would have took way less tthan 4 hours but newbie me
stripped the lower bolt and nut on the last strut left to put back on.....but we put another bolt and nut in place....well i hope it settles down more cus it doesn't really look lowered. i took it for a long spin today...and the handling is great, the ride is not that smooth but i'm not complaining since i've been driving with blown struts for 1/2 a year...the old struts wouldn;t even pop back up...i haven't experienced any noise either..hopefully it'll stay like that.

I have H&R/AGX and yes the H&R don't have the slammed lower look. But I think despite they look a little high, they do settle to the point where the ride height is similar to a BMW sedan with sport package, which is a nice look. There are some people like me that do not like the slammed look, but rather want a sleeper look. And I think most of the H&R owners here will agree that even though H&R's are perceived as soft and not that low, they perform excellent when paired with AGX's, probably as well as the lower springs (such as Sprint) but without as harsh a ride.

The drop also depends on the car's tranny & accessories. Auto's are heavier and drop more. Stripped down cars GXE's for example don't weigh as much as a fully loaded GLE or SE. My car dropped pretty low with H&R's. I came down almost 1 & 3/4" in the front. Some only come down 1 & 1/2. I have a fully loaded SE-L with Cali emissions leather and all. It's heavy & slow, but looks good!
H&R is a soft spring which helps maintain a good ride. Combine them with a nice firm strut and the ride is awsome. I do find that if you run the AGX's to firm, lets say higher then 2 up front and higher then 3 in the rear (with no load), the car never seems to settle down. To much of the road imperfections are transmitted through the car. If you run the struts a little softer, there ability to absorb the bumps shines through.
For those with H&R & AGX, turn them down a bit and drive around for a day or so. You'll see what I mean.
Keep in mind that a stiff suspension doesn't always mean better handling. The suspension needs to work properly. If the struts are to tight for a given spring, your not going to get the best combo of ride and performance.

played around with the settings, but i noticed that my driver side front strut (or is it shock) is messed up...the numbers on the dial are all messed up and i can't push down on it with the little screwdriver...the only number i can see is 3...must be messed up huh
