Tick...tikck...tick...

Hey, past few days, I am hearing ticking sound when I drive above 30 mile per hour. My car makes this sound when I first started. From maxima.org, I learned that it is VTC problem. I learned that when the engine warms up it will go away. I was fine with that.
But now I hear this ticking sound when I drive. Is it still a VTC problem? When I drive slow or stop on traffic light, I don't hear it.
Does anyone know what it is?

Thanks
Suya

Although I still think it might be the VTC's, there's a remote possibility that it may be a stuck lifter. But don't let me alarm you, though. Have you tried to ground the solenoids yet?

If you have a 90 GXE like your profile says, you DO NOT have VTCs.

Well, I do not have VTCs? Then what is making those thickig sound. I read in posts that it makes sound when you start the engine. My car was making those noise when started. It stopped after the engine gets warmed up. These days it is making same kind of noise when driving above 30 mph. Do you have any idea what is causing this noise. The car runs great.

I don't know what makes the ticking sound.. Maybe the injectors, but my money would be lifters. You keep saying over 30MPH. It seems to me that injectors would make noise all the time. Besides, VTCs are known for making noise at startup until warm - not at a certain speed.
