You wanna remove the side rubber thingys? Wouldn't it make the doors look nasty? I've never seen the moldings removed so I'm curious. Got pics?

Yes it looks good...very clean looking. do a search for James1234 or something like that and Chris91SE they have pics in their sigs on how it looks.

as far as the original post. The best thing to do is search because I know James or Chris one has gone into details on how to do it.

good luck,

I think it would look best to fill in the gap from where they were at. That would look great, I think. I don't like the look of having that space where they once were. It would be pretty easy to do, it would just have to be painted. I thought about doing it before I painted my car but too many people slam thier doors into mine. It's bad enough the dents I've pulled with the 'bumpers', I can't imagine what my doors would look like now had I taken them off...

side molding removal

Take a hair dryer or heat gun and using a plastic scraper heat the side moldings while working the scraper under them. These moldings are held on with double sticky backed tape and the heat releases the stickum. You can use a solvent (such as 3M adhesive remover) and elbow grease to get off or buy a Pneumatic Tool SMART ERASER, pinstripe and adhesive remover ($15). This is a small rubber wheel that you put in a pneumatic disk grinder tool and it erases the adhesive right off. Available in auto paint stores and such. I just chucked it into my 1000RPM drill, locked the trigger on and rubbed the adhesive right off. Painless. Followed with a cleaning with the adhesive remover.

Oh yeah...

'Sticker Shock' is the best stuff by far to get the adhesive off. I went through about 50 different products and this stuff works really really good.

You spray it on, let it sit/soak for about 2 mins, and then the stuff comes right off with a little rubbing.

I found it at PepBoys but I'm sure it's carried many places.
