Stupid, dumb woman with a cell phone

I was pulling out of a parking lot today and I saw a lady driving a brand new Cadillac CTS with 20" chrome wheels turning into a parking space. The car had temporary plates, so it was brand new.

She took the turn too wide and checked the curb with her front passenger side (it was an end space) so hard that it lifted her car up and popped it back down. There was a 6 INCH curb rash on it and it was about 1 inch wide- not just on the lip. The tire was all dusted up too.

I felt terrible for her. Then to my horror, she got out of the car with a huge smile gabbing on her cell phone and walked into the restaurant without even looking at the wheel!

I would be on the ground having a tantrum if that happened! I just hope that her husband isn't into cars like we are.... That's grounds for a beatdown.

Ah grounds for a beatdown? Maybe she is so rich that she will just have it replaced tomorrow and not give it another thought. Maybe it's HER car and she can do WTF she wants to do to it.

I saw a girl about a year ago backup her fairly new Camry full speed into a curb in the parking lot. She hit it so hard I saw the back tires actually leave the ground. Pulled forward, dropped off the curb, and drove off...

Another time, I was a client's parking lot (large Telco company, huge parking) talking to some friends when some lady parked her car in an empty spot not too far from us. Totally misjudged her entry and dragged her bumper along the side of the vehicle parked on the driver's side. She hops out, doesn't check to see the damage (or leave a note) grabs her purse and walks off.

At the other end of the spectrum is my poor G/F who was driving my 6-spd when a city grass cutter pelted the car with gravel. Totally not her fault. Immediately stopped the car, gave the guy ****, got his number and then called me so upset I thought one of her parents had just passed away or something.

Forgot one

Oooh oooh, forgot the best one - my sister in-law.

My sister in-law was driving her husband's car, making a left turn through an intersection. She didn't notice some pedestrians walking across the road as she was turning, panicked, and hit the gas instead of the brake.

Managed to avoid hitting any peds but hit the curb so hard that the car was undrivable and had to be towed.

If I was completely loaded AND my wife generated 100% of our household income, I would still be irate that she wrecked what was easily a $500 rim on a curb and didn't even care!

And the "beatdown" was complete sarcasm......

I'll tell u a sweet story about a lady who

shall remain nameless but happens to be my spouse of 21+ years...

She had developed a nasty habit of parking too close to my car inside the garage and for weeks I kept badgering her to move it over because she was at some point gonna wham my car with her door.

Sure enough, one fine Saturday while I'm WAXING MY CAR she pulls in to the garage (close) opens one of the rear doors on her car to get some bags out and WHAM -puts a one-inch crease on my right passenger door.

Even after a very disproportionate show of anger on my part I'm still seething so I go to the phone book, call the first ding doctor I can find, he says 'sure' and arrives 30 minutes later, sets up his things while my wife looks very confused -but give her credit, she knew enough not to ask what was going on

15 minutes later the ding is perfect -and I mean perfect. I ask him 'how much', he says '80 dollars', I poke my head in the house and in my sweetest voice call out for my wife...she appears with a look of total suspicion in her eyes (my sweet call was a give-away) and I sweetly say 'honey, please pay the nice gentleman who fixed my car'.

The look on her face was priceless -and from that moment on her car has been at least 6 inches farther away...

these days...

every morning on the way to work, every women driver that i pass up on highway or that stopped next to me at an intersection has a phone next to her ear. They be hogging up the fast lane and holding up traffic after the light has turned green. If you gonna use the phone at least use a handsfree set and please always keep your eye on the road and not in the phone conversation.

That's funny, cuz around here I see more guys on the phone than I do women. But I am fast developing a dislike of female drivers, since twice some dumb ***** rear ended me at a red light at like 5 mph. What, did you forget that you have to hold your foot on the brake?!? And neither of them were even on the phone, so they weren't distracted, they were actually just dumb.

last year when i was at HS, every girl got nice brand new cars, after the 1st week, they would be totalled and the girl had no car and would brag about how ****ed up their car was. and then their parents would just fix the car and give it back. most girls need serious help when it comes to driving, no girl will ever drive my max, they can be in the front seat with me, but thats it.

How ironic. We all are complaining about how bad women drive. I wonder who has the worst statistics in regards to accidents and insurance rates? Any particular reason why young men have higher insurance rates than young women? It couldn't be because women are such crappy drivers right?

I'll have to dig up an old textbook tonight, but studies show that men are better drivers because we can see things more spatially (better court-vision, if you will).

The insurance rates are higher for men not because we are worse drivers, but it is because we are crazier drivers. Our accidents are generally more fatal and costly.

Granted, it's hard to see the distinction between the two, but I am just regurgitating what I remember from college.

Yeah, obviously guys are more likely to drive super fast and accidents that occur when the car is fast are much worse than these "little incidents" women get into. I mean we are probably better at controling the car itself, but we don't control our need to drive like a psycho! =)

And the evil thing is this (found from google cause I forgot too, had to fix it up a bit though):

First we state that firls require time and money.
> Girls = Time x Money

And as we all know "time is money"
> Time = Money

Therefore:
> Girls = Money x Money = (Money)2

And because "money is the root of all evil"
> Money = sq root (evil)

Therefore:
> Girls = (sq root (evil))^2

And we are forced to conclude that:
> Girls = Evil

So stasticly you would rather be hit by a better(abeit)crazier male driver that's more likely to do more serious damage than an ill-sighted woman driver??

Ah okay, we are "better" drivers but tend to drive crazier and get in more fatal/costly accidents. Looks like the "better" half is being outdone by the crazier/fatal/costly half.

Exactly. So in the whole scheme of things, men get into worse accidents, cause more damage and get into more reportable accidents than women. Thus what would everyone conclusion still be? Men are "better" drivers?

Has anyone actually seen statistics on car accidents lately? I was under the impression that the statistics were changing. Don't ask me where I heard this, but back in the day not too many teen girls drove, so of course men had higher accident rates. Now'a'days teen girls drive as much as teen boys and the statistics are leveling out. The accidents come from inexperience, not gender.

I tried to search for demographic automobile accidents on the web, but had no luck. Anyone else know where to look? I also always wondered about the stats on elderly drivers.

Yeah they should lower the car insurance prices for us Teen guys. Better yet, all males. My friend has a 2002 Mustang GT and pays 4700 a year. We get charged more because we drive more therefore involved in more accidents.

Well, I have a story too. I was with my dad and he was driving into a toll booth (many of them in NJ) and there was this red mazda stuck in one of the booths. I have no idea how it's possible to get stuck. I mean the car was sideways. It's kinda hard to believe but what was this lady doing? reversing in and out and try to make a u-turn? That image is kinda hard to picture but think about it. A small mazda SIDEWAYS in a toll booth. Oh yeah, the car was pretty scratched up and you can tell she was very embarassed.

Sure. Just tell all the young male drivers to stop driving like their NASCAR idols when they've only had their license for 2 weeks and maybe the insurance might actually go down.

i would think location and type of insurance would also play a role in insurance costs. and yes, more teenage boys do drive than girls, which would mean thats why the insurance is higher. but im 18, i pay 900 for 6 months, i think thats good. and i have a max. its all on location. down south i would have paid 1800 for the same insurance on my car.

It's not a matter of who drives more. It's a matter of what demographic is statistically the bigger risk(ie.. tickets, accidents, $ per accident, type of ticket etc...) The teenage male is by far the most risky driver of them all. Hence the high insurance rates(if you can even get a company to even insure the kid...ie....has a camaro/mustang/corvette etc....)
