Velox VX-8's will be avail in 5-lug next month! For those who followed the Voxx thread

Despite my recent findings, the Velox VX-8's are ONLY offered in 4-lug. I know this because I asked Velox.

BUT, to my pleasant surprise, I found out that a seller is getting a batch of 5-lug's that will be available in about 2 weeks!

Here is the email he sent me:

VX-8 only comes in 4-lug fitments. 5-lug fitments are coming out next month. We have the exclusive!

Drop me an email in 2 weeks and ill get some photos.

Thanks,

EG Solidsports

I emailed him back asking if he knows any specifics (Rim width, weight, ect.)

HOPEFULLY this will include that black/polished lip rim, or at least a dark gunmetal one. I highly doubt it won't though, so I'm not too worried there. This guy was selling the 18x7.5 VX-8's for $588 a set!! I expect similer great deals for the 5lugs. He also says their lightweight, we will see just how light in due time.

They are supposed to be light. Here is a quote from one of his auctions:

Created for the enthusiast as a street racing wheel. Ultra light for a 18inch wheel- Compare to TENZO and others that weigh up to 26lbs
per wheel. The VX-8 combines slender spokes with polished lip to create a true Japanese racing wheel style. Gain both show points and a quick launch from these ultralight wheels. Each wheel carries a 1 year manufacturers warranty. Buy from us to get the warranty from Velox and promotional items other sellers do not offer
He has that auction set @ BUY IT NOW for $585 for the set, including
FREE PROMO ITEMS:
(2) VELOX VINYL DECALS For your ride.
(1) VELOX CENTER CAP PER WHEEL
(1) ALUMINUM VALVE STEM PER WHEEL
(1) VELOX POSTER from NEW IMPORT TUNER MAGAZINE
(1) VELOX LICENSE PLATE FRAME (* If payment recieved within 48hours of
auction close)

SOMETHING's gotta be wrong...this is a dream come true IMO. I will post every bit of info I get from him if/when he responds to my emails.

Keep in mind guys that centerline wheels come in rediculously skinny sizes. 18x7...that's even getting slim for the torqueless civics. Besides, they're rims are pretty ugly IMHO.

Cheston, I'm going to e-mail him again in the beginning of November like he asked. I don't know the EXACT weight on these bad-boys yet, but I will get all the info about width, weight, colors, ect. in a couple weeks.

He sent another reply. Do I hear Group Deal!?:

Sounds great Craig maybe we can work out a GB or something for the maxima folks.

Please drop me an email in about 3 weeks.

Thanks
Now, if he can get a price CHEAPER then $585, WITH warrenty, then sometime really sounds fishy. But, then again these will be a brand new make (5lug) and could be wider so the price will most likely be a little higher, still most likely awesome though. As it stands now his prices are amazingly cheap. But he seems like a good, honest guy and his feedback is significantly positive. Man, I can't WAIT till november!!

Too bad those rims only come in 18 x 7.5. I would want some 8.5, or at least 8 width. How about the Velox VX-8R, will it come out in 5-lug too? Those are almost the same, but IMO a little better looking.

they look similar to konig absolutes - pretty nice rims - not too sure how they would look on a maxima though.

Are the forged?

Don't fall for his enticing email. It prolly means it's 25lbs compared to Tenzo's 26lbs.

$585 a set for 18's is almost TOO cheap.

If they'd really make them in 5 lug patterns....

http://www.groupbuycenter.com/buy.asp?row_id=6877

the VX-8 wheel is listed here for 625$ SHIPPED for a set of 18s
not only that...

it says it weighs approx 18.5 lbs each
although it doesn't exactly say that this is the 18" weight...
ossuming the 17s weigh this much... the difference between the 17s and 18s might be 2-3 lbs at most.. say it's even 4-5.. that's already pretty damn light compared to most 18s.....

hell of a deal if these fit our freaking cars

Yea...Velox emailed me and said they plan on making a rim similer to the VX-8 in a 5lug in a few months but that the VX-8 is only a 4lug.

I'm gonna email EG again and see what's up!

I thought I was right the first time around (in the voxx thread). I have been looking at those for 6 months now, and everyone I spoke to said only 4 lugs.

Yea, that's what he told me...I emailed him to see if he has heard anything about what colors or sizes it might be available in.

Everyone just sit tight, I have a pretty good feeling about these rims.

I highly doubt it.

Guys, I just found out that these rims will be 10-spoked. The VX-8's are only 8-spoked...I think 10 will be too many for me...

But then again, the Voxx Scorze are 10-spoked, and they looked hot. With the Velox color combo and weight, the PG-10's may just be a winner.

Someone email him asking if the Velox PG-10's will be Similer to the Voxx Scorze....i've emailed him too much already and warn out my welcome.

Were they referring to the Velox VX-8R? I think that one looks a little better anyways. Almost the same, just that the ridge on each spoke goes all the way from the hub to the lip...
