That Altima looks bad ***! Rumors say the Max will go full size in '04/05. What do you think?

No

I hope they don't mess around with the MAX too much, it's know for being a 4DSC and they're gonna turn it into a Granny mobile. If we want that we'll buy a *choke* Buick.

I just hope they remember the 4DSC roots of the car and go back to a RWD configuration. Throw in a V8 and that would be sweet, but a high power 3.5 V6 wouldn't be too bad (especially after someone makes a S-Charger for it <grin>).

New ALtima

Yeah, I think Nissan is passing the 4DSC torch to the Altima. The 5th Gen max got an updated VQ, but a bigger wheelbase body which kindof masked most of the improvements they made in the engine.

Plus there's another subtle hint, the altima comes available with and FSTB from the dealer and the present Maxima does not.

Watch, the Gen 6 maxima is gonna be as ugly as the new avalon. UGHH!!

Not only looks good

But it should have the goods to back it up too. I think I've heard, ~240hp V6, Multilink rear suspension...possibly 6spd manual...should be nice, lets wait and see..and see what the price is.

i've heard

That the Maxima and I30 will get bumped up one level.

They will be turned into rear wheel drive vehicles (as early as 2002/2003) and may include the Infiniti Q45's engine.

So essentially the Maxima leaves our realm of the 4DSC. The Altima gets to be the new maxima. But the catch is, they will be using the current 5th gen engine, but it might be revamped for 260+ hp. As well, the chassis of the Altima will NOT CHANGE SIGNIFICANTLY, therefore, the weight will be cut down. The Altima will definitely kick ***.

I've read (just rumors) that the "new" Max will be the 2003 model. But the 2002 should be bad ***. 260+ hp 3.5 lt V6 on the current platform. Anyone else heard this?
