Polished items anyone?

Anyone interested in polishing anything under the hood? i'm not talking about a sanded crappy job, i'm talking about a nice mirror finish, chrome like.

I took a picture of a valve cover i'm currently polishing so you can get an idea of the kind of finish these items recieve. This one is one i've not yet done and still has some more steps to go, when its done it'll be alot more refined than how you see it, so please keep that in mind.

Niice.

no, the other one wasn't that nice, but it was pretty close. about one step behind that one.

I've got a valve cover I'm working on right now for the VE. once I get that done, I'll hunt down an extra intake manifold and send it to the shop to get some weight taken out of it's insides.. then I'll start smoothing out the outside.

Lophix, yes, I carry a spare. never know when you'll need it.

If you can do MY valve cover, Sudesh, I'll go ahead and mail it to you since I've got a spare one lying around looking for someone to rub it the right way! What are you charging for this, btw??

I don't offer a cleaning service. If you want your engine bay to get cleaned, you should just go to a detailing shop and have them steam clean your engine. Nothing cuts it better than steam, especially when it's been dirty for a longggggg time.
The service I offer is to polish items. valve covers, intakes..etc.

I'll send you an e-mail with the details.

I think if I do yours, others will see how the quality of my work is and then become interested.

yeah, I think after dropping $4k on the body work and about $1k on the kit and hood, Im just gonna tint it and be done with the big stuff till spring. Ive got to start saving for next year insurance.

Im probably gonna wait untill spring for the new engine and 19"s
unless I get a good job and can afford my insurance on a monthly basis

Hi,
Yes pricing is even better. I'm going to be doing Nubiannupe's valve cover. After than you guys can judge for yourself if the price is worth the quality of the work.

Wow man! do you realize for that cash you could be driving a turbo with over 300hp? I guess if your into looks it makes no difference. But I'm all about GOGOGO. My next 5k is strictly going to be for performance. Will be ugly oxidized paint, but it will haul ***!

Valve covers on a VG are steel. if you polished them, they'd simply rust and you'd be worse off. If you want them shiny, I suggest removing them, then taking them to a place that does chrome plating.

VE valve covers are aluminum.. can be shined up very nicely with correct polishing equipment and techniques..

Speaking of equipment.. Sudesh.. how do you get in all the tiny bends and stuff on those- Dremel?

Matt, there are certain metal sealants that you can use to prevent steel from rusting after it's been polished (doesn't guarantee to work for years though). I actually don't own a dremel or rotary tool of any kind (but i need one), the bends and such I do by hand, I've gotten quick at it so I don't mind.
