...coming from my fuel tank, it sounds like something is humming. if i release the pressure of the gas tank it goes away. What is this? Car is a 97 SE.

is this when the car is running? off?
full tank, low tank?

when you're taking the cap off, or just sitting there or driving or what?


My first guess would be the fual pump making that noise. they usually have a humming noise to them. ??

 

Sorry, its when the cap is on, tank about 1/2 (i havent checked at other times yet), car is OFF. It just sitting there, IGN not on.

 

about his car doing something like that the other day... ask him (I thought I heard my car do the same, but I dont thing in retrospect we were talking about the same kinda sound). But do it quick, he's about to jet out of the country.
