A Skyline GTR VSPEC can also handle extremely well. Just lower the boost down a lil and its a monster in the twisties. Basically it comes down to taste. A Skyline holds the record at nurburgring for a stock mass produced car. So its not even in the same league as a ten second chevelle that cant even hardly turn.
IMHO a car has to have speed, comfort and handling to be truely ELITE. I mean 959 and F1 are awesome cars that i would take with no questions asked but for a daily driven monster i would take the Skyline over any car on the streets. And if im getting one for christmas THATS MY CHOICE! I think i would have more luck pulling the engine in a skyline in my garage than any of the other cars and since i am my own mechanic i consider that when getting a car. Maybe im looking into this too much, my bad.

Hey buddy, I would definitely never debate that the Skyline is an incredible car but IMHO I wouldn't rank a Nissan produced product with the ranks of a 959, F1, F40, F50, XJ220, Bugatti EB110, Bentley TurboR, 456GT, 360 Modena, Diablo VT ect...regardless of horsepower and speed. And you're right, most of these cars are not daily driver cars but that's what makes them special! Exclusivity, Price, Mechanical attributes that usually aren't shared with other companies, Name of the Manufacturer...ect. These are just my opinions so don't flame me....lol

If the skyline was made by Ferrari I bet you would consider it elite like those other cars you mention

I love ALL of those cars.. Just don't think it's right to say a car isn't eliete because it isn't made by a company like Porsche or Ferrari and doesn't cost $150,000 to half a mill.

It couldn't be more japanes looking which isn't bad in any way but totally unlike european design and engineering! A Porsche and Ferrari have something the Skyline will never have.. The name, look, price tag that makes sure you have a fairly rare car, and the fact that everybody knows what it is, how much it costed, and will drool over it..
Stock for Stock they are usually better cars also, unless you compare the Skyline with their lower end cars.

I dont need to drive one to know how fast a 1000 hp model would be. I dont need to drive one to understand how well it handles. Like i said it holds to record for a production car in the nurburgring which was previously held by a porsche.
And i stated before that this was MY opinion and its also MY opinion that it is an ELITE car and on the top of my list. Plus its got huge aftermarket support which means i can tinker with it. Who in their right mind would modify a $200,000+ car? Not me. Imagine your ******* out your F1 and the engine blows...WHOOPS!! the engine will probably cost as much as the skyline with mods.

Yeah a few guys have them in the US from motorex but man i have only seen one and that was at a car show (older r33) Plus i think motorex sells the new r34 for $90,000 stock. I think having one of those with serious engine mods would put you in pretty ELITE company. At least on the streets of the united states.
Its all good though everyone has their tastes.

I rode in one in Hongkong(I can't RHD so I could only be the passenger), it's a cool car but it wasn't like damn I can kill for this thing.
Also, what 1000hp model are you talking about exactly? The stock one is 280hp(of course under the Japanese gentleman they all claim that, it might be pushing low-mid 300 in reality), and it only does 1/4m in mid 13's according to European car. In order to have 1000hp it needs to go under serious modification, I doubt it can be street driven. So let's not get too hyped up about 1000hp Skyline.
Lastly, I still don't get what you meant by you don't need to drive one to understand how well it handles. Isn't it bench racing?

2) It's a turbo car, which means it's relatively easier to modify it and make it go faster. People are overwhelmed by the 8 sec Skyline runs.
3) All the pic and etc you see, is always the R34 V-spec with carbon fiber gooides in that blue color, and it does look striking.
4) It's not available here in US. So sort of like you always want to bang the women you have no chance with

Personally I think you are right. 1000hp is a bit much. Who wants a drag-only skyline? 600-700 would be about perfect
And who cares if it only runs a 13 stock. It will still tear it up on the track. The new M3 will only run 13's also and I bet people will consider it a pretty elite car.

People like the Skyline for the same reasons they like the Supra. (Plus a lot of other reasons) Who here hates Supras? We just don't talk about them as much because it's not a Nissan (like you said)

I rode in one in Hongkong(I can't RHD so I could only be the passenger), it's a cool car but it wasn't like damn I can kill for this thing.
Also, what 1000hp model are you talking about exactly? The stock one is 280hp(of course under the Japanese gentleman they all claim that, it might be pushing low-mid 300 in reality), and it only does 1/4m in mid 13's according to European car. In order to have 1000hp it needs to go under serious modification, I doubt it can be street driven. So let's not get too hyped up about 1000hp Skyline.
Lastly, I still don't get what you meant by you don't need to drive one to understand how well it handles. Isn't it bench racing?
Well its just a WILD guess that a car which holds the record at a track which many cars are judged by will handle good. If your logic is correct, How do you know a 959 or F1 handles good if you never drove one?

And i was dreaming about this whole thing anyways. To ME the worlds greatest christmas present would be a tuned to the max skyline. A car i can tinker with and if i had the money do engine swaps and upgrades my self in the comfort of my garage. Im sorry its just what i would like. Like i will ever get a skyline for xmas or anything else for that matter. I dont get anything!!! 
Since we are talking fiction im saying what i would like to have in a perfect world. And 1000hp (at the crank) skylines arent THAT uncommon in the world of tuned skylines. It just takes a lot of money, knowledge and time. And yeah you might have to de-tune it to run on the street with pump gas but it would still run 9 second quarters. Theres no car in the world that can do that stock so thats why i prefer the skyline, it could be tuned to do it. I know all too well about how fast one is stock, a camaro SS would probably show off his tailights to one in a drag race. Its not all that dominating stock, its actually too heavy to be with 330hp (rated at 280 but i have heard that on the dyno they get around 330hp), but it is untouchable in the modified street driven performance car world, once again In My Honest Opinion.
