i was watching a movie and this thought popped in my head.
i wonder if the maxima enthusiasts community will live on after most of us here (hopefully all of us here) move onto bigger and better things

Not a chance--- the maxima is a dying race... sure we are getting enw memebers, but the die hards, Keving, Cheston, over the next few years peope will move on. Maybe, just maybe, sprintmax will be around to give the codec link, and to rip a newbie a new one!

I doubt it. There aren't too many NEW innovators that are coming around. What about when all of our "big-shots" move on?

Maxima is being redesigned into a large family boat.. Most people driving that thing will have to be in their 60s. Ossuming there are still maximas being made 15 years from now... i doubt it will be around.

Although a lot of us will be in our 40s and 50s so we just might return to the maxima after all

Right on bro'. There's no need for it. Maxima is a car for old people who aren't that into cars, or young people who don't have alot of money but want "bang for buck." I would think that since most people on this forum are reasonably bright, as they finish up school and advance in the workplace, they're gonna get better cars. Even look at what the 350Z means, the people who are buying them are newbies, they're not diehards that had the 240-260-280z/300zx.

People shouldn't be so sensitive, just because a Maxima owner doesn't think it's the best car on the road doesn't mean that they don't think it has bang for the buck. Maxima serves it's purpose but it's nothing to write home to mom about.

exactly my first thought...

who will trully care if the org is alive in 15 or 20 years? I wont. I can name about 20 people that wont. Its not a child, you won't watch it grow up and have kids of its own. (although all these new maxima forums that are springing up everywhere can be considered children)

Even if you people keep coming back to the org in that time frame, you'll be too busy to post anything with all our always advancing "high-tech" lifestyles. High tech also means high stress, yeesh.

But most important of all, a maxima is not a cult car like some sports cars. SO keep your shorts on and ride it while you can.

mozy: i'm not necessarily talking bout u or any individual here right now...jus talking bout later on whether it's 5, 10 yrs or watever...will there be new comers to the maxima community...not necessarily current org members coming back here 10-20yrs later.

if u read my first post, i said "i wonder if the maxima enthusiasts community will live on after most of us here (hopefully all of us here) move onto bigger and better things"

and i too believe it wont last

in 20 years, you'll be talking to my son, who will inherit my car.

they're probably taking about modding it to include flux capacitors and a hover conversion or something.

the .ORG maybe..maybe not

but maxima websites... yes

if you ever get a chance just pick some normal car, ANY car, and do an internet search on it.

There will always be automotive forums, unless the internet changes or cars change dramaticly

Thought you said you can't afford to keep the Max. So, not going to get the Civic anymore?

I think I'll have to keep the Max for quite awhile longer too. My plan down the line is to get a 5spd swap then get the turbo. Maybe. The problem is that I'm known to change my mind sometimes.

7-10 years i hope so. it'll take me that long to save up for the SC and all the toys that goes with it.

i'll be one of the old dudes at the track waiting on some unsuspecting young'en to ask if i wanna run.

then after i womp his a** then i can tell about the day of old and the legends of the .ORG.

yeah, that's what i'll do, yeah!

I think it will be here in 10 years; but there will be an automated, on-line reply to every post.
