What would happen if one were to run aftermarket springs and struts only on the front of the car? Would it cause settring problems? What if you ran the front springs but aftermarket struts all around?
This was a hypothetical. I got to wondering b/c I don't hate my rear gap as much as I do my front. I was just daydreaming at work and wondered what handling effects this might have...

I have done that!
When I was changing my suspension at the DMV parking lot, a cop comes along and threaten to give me a ticket if I don't pack my things up in 30 minutes.
Regarless, I was able to change my fronts, but I left the rear untouched. It was like that for a month.
Quite frankly, I did not have any trouble, except the fact that the car is nose diving...
...and the fronts are tighter than the rears. I changed my suspension to KYB AGX and Maxspeed spring.
My stock reart struts are nearing their life....so the rear is plenty stiff, but not stiff enough to complement the front.

Realistically
I had to drive around with sprint/koni on the front for 2 weeks, because I was in college, had some work to do, and broke so many tools. When you go around corners at a decent speed, it feel like the rear end was going to fly out on me. I didn't like it. Plus it looked stupid.
So not a good idea? The problem is, I like the feel of my ride, and I like the way I don't have to worry about speedbumps and driveways, but I hate the look of the 4x4 Maxima. I also would not mind reduced body roll, but don't want my Max to look like a ricemobile. Pebble beige is a hard color to pull off when customizing. It looks too much like a luxury car. Several guys have definately pulled it off with class, but I lack the cash to go as far into it as they have.
What hurts me the most it that there is a Camary XLE V6 in my parking lot, lowered and on aftermarket 16s in almost the SAME COLOR, and it looks sportier than my 96 GLE on SE rims. It looks nice and level, and obviously lowered, but not so low that it looks ghetto-fabulous.
