I was wondering what the difference between the V1 and V2 Vortech's are, and yes I did a search before I posted this.

You didnt search hard. There is so much talk between V1 and V2, they dont make V1 anymore so unless ur buying used then ur gettin the V2. I bet this gets locked.

V1 very reliable sweet sounding SC.

V2 gearing is just a bit different and mounting plate is different then the V1 and the pullies on it may melt. My opinion on the melting of the pullies may be that the belt may be sinched too tight. The plastic pullies on the V2 can be replaced with alloy or metal pullies.

 

V1s have straight cut spur gears, whereas the V2's gears have a helical cut, making them quieter than V1s. There is also a small difference in boost at a given engine rpm, due to the fact that the V2 spins about 5% faster than the V1 for a given pulley size.
