This happens in any gear. I floor it, it slows down, and feels funny. The needle slowly moves and I slowly accelerate. acceleration doesnt feel the same from 1000rpm to 6000, it will slow down dramaticlly at 4000.

Also, my idle isnt right. The needle fluctuates and sometimes the car stalls.

since you have a 2000+ maxima.. my guess woudl be that your VIAS is busted

You might want to check your ignition coils because they might be on their way out.
