Here's a disertation in short form -->

Maxima Suspension Parts

Eibach Springs:

89 to 94 Maximas
Part #6311.140
Price: $260 ($174 with 33% off coupon)

95 to 99 Maximas
Part #6334.140
Price: $274 ($179 with 33% off coupon)

H & R Springs:

89 to 94 Maximas
Discontinued and unavailable

95 to 99 Maximas
Part # 53059
Price: $255 ($172 with 33 % off coupon)

Tokico Shocks:

89 to 94 Maximas
Front:
Part #HB3068 (Right) & #HB3067 (Left)
Price: $110 each ($74 each with 33% off coupon)

89 to 94 Maximas
Rear:
Part #HZ3132 (Left & Right)
Price: $62 each ($41 each with 33% off coupon)

Don't bother getting these if you have a 4th gen or 5th gen Maxima, especially for the rear. The beam axle/RSB combo in the back really beats these to death and they lose their dampening quickly....3rd gen Maximas don't appear to suffer from this as much as tokico must have valved them stiffer.

Koni Shocks:

Front:
89 to 94 Maximas
Part #86-2435 (Left & Right)
Price: $140 each ($94 each with 33% off coupon)

95 to 99 Maximas
Part #8641-1362 (Left & Right)
Price: $147 each ($99 each with 33% off coupon)
Note: These are inserts, so someone will have to cut your OEM front struts apart and replace with Koni inserts....i.e. "Someone who knows what they're doing".

Rear:
89 to 94 Maximas
Part #86-2436 (Left & Right)
Price: $140 each ($94 each with 33% off coupon)

95 to 99 Maximas
Part #8040-1242
Price: $139 each ($94 each with 33% off coupon)
Note: These are direct replacements, as all the Tokico struts are.....

For third gen Maximas, you would probably be happiest in the long term with the Eibach/Koni setup, but most 3rd gen cars (including mine) have not had a rapid 'softening' of Tokico struts when using the Eibach/Tokico setup as reported by the 4th Gen guys. For 4th gens, the H&R/Koni setup would get you a softer ride, while the Eibach/Koni setup would improve overall handling at the expense of a harsher ride. The Tokicos have too many long-term durability questions to warrant getting those, especially for 4th and 5th gen Maxes. The Koni shocks and Eibach springs will run you $600 to $650, while the Tokico/Eibach combo will cost you $375 to $400 after shipping. Add another $200 to $300 to install everything, with the upper number taking into account the cost of replacing the Konis in the front, which would include modifying the stock strut housings. Naturally, this install cost accounts for you getting it all done at once.

Again, be sure to break up this purchase to where you only spend $300 at a time on carparts.com to maximize your discount....For Konis, I would purchase two struts with two orders and then a third order for the springs. All you have to do with each purchase is delete the 'carparts.com' cookie that's in your browser's cookie folder.

: )

Go to http://www.importhookup.com for the latest code for the 33% off coupon.

This is a little difficult to find on carparts.com's website. Once you have selected you car, go to the "Performance" link and look under "Shocks and Struts" as well as "Springs" to view the Tokicos, Konis, and Eibachs.

Thansk Bill99GXE !!

This info was EXACTLY what I needed and was looking for.
I think all these part numbers for the suspension and lighting should be integrated in to the FAQ.

I think everytime someone asks this, I'm gonna post -->

this answer.....

Maybe someone will question the extra bandwidth being used and add it into a FAQ somewhere.....

Glad I could assist you....

Don't forget KYB!

You can get the GR-2s for around $50 each from Summit Racing. These are the non-adjustable models, good if you're on a budget.
There's also the 4-way adjustable AGX model, for around $80 each. But the Max application won't be available until next spring.
