Coilovers, big brake, and supercharger at the track!

HOLY BEGEEZUS!

these coilovers ROCK!

i went to the race track today to exclusively test the validity of cattman's new coilover system via progress performance (and also check the performance for the brembo gran turismo kit)

when paired together with the supercharger, coilover and brakes, it was unbelieveable!!!

and i have video to prove it!! the only limiting factor was my street tires... i will be moving to race compound and light weight rims for next track session, but it was simply amazing.. a little bit of oversteer around steep corners, but really, the car was planted and transitioned nicely..

the brakes held up extremely well and even performed supurbly after they warmed up. no fade what so ever. even after repeated 110mph ->75mph the brakes held fast. WUNDERful feeling of NOT having the pedal sink into the floor under hard braking.

alot of people were complaining that the "maximas" were braking late, but its because we could take the turns hotter than they could because we were all on race compound, with me being the only one with the big brake kit.

wow. the supercharger was fantastic too! after my rebuild the sucker was boosting great... once the straightaways opened up i just ate em all for lunch and during the twisties the suspenion held! the belt DID jump (again) after a few hard 4->3->2 downshifts turning a 105mph->45mph xfer for a 90 hard left, but i loosened the belt and shifted over the rib and all was well.

picts/video uploads asap. just need to xfer the minidv to computer!
WOW.

all-cali meet todat was a success. thanks to all that came:

Sounds like a good time! I have a few questions though. What kind of tires were you using? Do you have a layout to the track(webstite)? And how long did each session last?

Can't wait to see the vids..

Cheston, what is the camber like with the new suspension setup, are you using plates or bolts??

Maybe you should look into some centerline rims, they are extremely lightweight..

Great news with the coilovers.

How do they handle in everyday driving?

Hmm so he got rid of the takeup springs all together? What about the raised mount, and is that a pillow ball mount? Any problems with noise from the rear as a result of the spring coming unseated? Any Idea if he is going to have some sort of upgrade like the last gen 1 to 2 did? Kinda what I want to know is if there will be somthign to make the rear spring seat better.

update!

i got all the video onto mpeg format, but i need someone to host!

the vids are huge! (the one i really want to show is 197 megs)

i tried to compress for web format, but it really doesnt give it justice! (i.e. size is hella small)

so i just need to put up this 1 file, and you can see for yourself how awesome it is.

i have three 15 minute run sessions, but i just want to post session 2, which was by best one.

anyone wanna help me out?

Hey Cheston, don't forget to burn me a CD of all the video you took. I'm really curious how our runs looked.
By the way, my Buttonwillow writeup can be
found right here.

daily driving: good nice ride. not harsh at all!

its a very good setup cuz the dampening and the springs are well matched.

You should take her back to the track, and kill that 13.9 you ran in the 1/4

We all know you can do it
