e-brake not working after replacing rear brakes

I just replaced my rear brakes (rotors and pads). On one side the ebrake spring was taken off but put back on afterwords, and the other side was just disconnected and then reconnected. now my ebrake wont work! The brakes were bled afterwords too. I have brakes and they work good but now ebrake. Anyone have any ideas???

Thanks
-Mike

To me, it sounds like something is not connected. Aren't the e-brakes cable-actuated?

try pulling the brake handle several more times. after you retract the pistons, sometimes it takes several pulls in order to reset the parking brake mechanism. if that doesn't work, look and make sure the cable is connected at the calipers. if it's connected there, then pull the heat shield off above the cat and take a look at the other end of the cable.

I pulled the ebrake several times and still nothing and everything is connected in the rear. But how would something come loose up by the cat if nothing was messed with up there? I dont understand how it would just stop working!

thanks
