Got in a small accident by myself

I ran into some still objects... yes im a dumbass...

1. Right side of the bumper is messed up... Need new one
2. Heater makes GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR sound when turned on
3. air bag popped out

Okay now... If I take it to the body shop... they are going to keep it for months...

I was thinking, I should get after market front bumper.
then take it to nissan for air bags and the heater problem.

what do you guys suggest I should do?
how much are the bumpers or the maxima?

As for the bumper, a shop should be able to do it in about 1 day, 2-3 at the most. Although right now is a BAD time to have body work done if it gets cold where you are. I have no idea how much a new bumper costs, but you may want to consider an aftermarket one. From what I've read on the board, much cheaper, and no noticeable difference in quality.

As for the heater, if you want heat, go to a dealership. Chances are, your cooling system is damaged as well. I won't be surprised if the cooling system alone costs around $1000 to fix.

As for air bags, expect those to be around $1000 as well.

Ok, an aftermarket bumper, which one. Sarona, skyline agressor, razzi, jt autostyle, or the r33 type.
All of these are fiberglass and fiberglass sucks. I got my bumper with a big crack from custommaxima.com. The skyline and the sarona are nice ones. But the best, newest looking one is the Jt autostyle bumper which is so damn sick! It makes the max look helllla crazy. If u drive crazy, get another OEM bumper which is urethane. And then with that id get the stillen aero kit. Or you could get after market one but beware, any bump would create an unfixable fiberglas crack.

I said aftermarket bumper, not a body kit bumper. There are aftermarket suppliers that make oem looking bumper covers.

Air bags are frickin' expensive. I mean, you can try to find those "black market" air bags. But you don't know how those have been rebuilt. I remember one person was selling "rebuilt" ones for a while, making a killing because they were cheap. Then people started dying because he used gunpowder as the explosive to deploy the air bag. You can look for stolen ones, but the problem is, it's hard to tell which ones are stolen, and which ones are rebuilt. When it comes to air bags, I would rather have no air bags than air bags with a shady history.

Better call the insurance for this one. It's not going to be cheap. You are better off filing a claim since the damage is way over your deductible. Get your hood painted while you at it while it's in the body shop.

Depending on how old you are, and your driving record, that might not be a bad idea. If you are under 25, that may not be. It's going to cost about $2500-3000 to fix all the damage. Your deductible is probably around $500. Now $500 sounds a lot better than $2500-3000, but it may come back to bite you in the butt when your insurance goes up.

How about you take you car to get some estimates on exactly what is damaged how much it will cost to repair. If it's really bad, insurance it. If not too bad, pay it yourself.

unless its a kit bro, don't go for anything aftermarket no matter how cheap it is. You will have a lot of fitment issues, some parts may be sticking out mroe than supposed to, ask around here, those are the worst to get. But if u are gonna have to replace your bumper anyway, might as well take this time to get something special

oh and u can find air bags cheaper on car-parts.com. They are used but should work the same. New, they go for 1,000+

How much is a new front OEM bumper anyway?

Sexima - sorry to hear man. That sucks that it was enough to set off the airbag.

Air bags and AC are wicked expensive..
