Just got my VB mod done!!

hey guys, i jus picked up my car from jeff's shop(maximum tuning-long island NY) earlier today after staying over last night for the VB mod...all ive got to say is WOW!!
i got the VB mod done at a group deal price of $325..got a hayden tranny cooler installed, had my solenoids replaced, and ATF changed...the shifts and revs are incredible...the one u feel the most difference in is obviously from first to second, it gives a nice hard jerk and its a FAST shift, and in all the gears-yur RPMS dont drop down as much as before and climb back up and continue pulling REAL QUICK and real good...none of that one second hesitation anymore..it jus strait PULLS...i went at it WOT from a light against a VW GTI and i didnt have any lag at the shifts and it was incredible...the gears went one right into the other...first to second is a HARD shift, however the rest are just quick smooth ones
the greatest thing about the mod is that is makes your tranny alot stronger and more durable and allowing towards aggressive driving, your tranny no longer feels "hurt" from quick hard takeoffs and shifts but instead just says BRING IT!! Prevents your tranny from possibly breaking down since the tranny cooler's protecting it and it now being able to handle any shifts easily

Sounds like your promoting these guys that did it for you.

I think I'd still rather opt for a 5spd swap.

Wait until you have an SC and are on a Dyno - You can feel your car almost fall apart when you hit the 1-2 shift.

Scares the hell out of me every time.

And on the 5-spd swap - I agree.

This spring....sooooon.

haha it can sound like that that i may be promoting this shop, but if u go to NE forum, anyone within a 50 mile radius of NYC, recommends this shop to anyone who asks for work done, the guy who's shop it is is on the org too-maximus75...so why not get yur work done from a guy who knows maxima's and is ASE certified and gives great deals and does great work

and i definately agree a 5 spd conversion is wayy better, i would love for a 5 spd but then with NYC traffic it can get annoying, and i also cant afford the money, time and work involved in doing that whole thing
i WISH i can afford a supercharger too man...wow i can imagine how the shifts would be

|Are you saying the 12 shifts are too Hard? Did you get Jeffs VB or Dons?

Not really too hard in regular driving at even WOT.

Just on the Dyno. There's no inertia on the Dyno, and that adds to the shift's punch.

And I have Don's VB Mod.

It's not hard to install - just follow the directions VERY carefully, and expect to get some tranny fluid all over your hands.

My tranny feels stronger than ever....and I'm boosting.
