Wndow switch led mod gone arwry. HELP!

I was modding the led's in my window switches on the drivers side. I didn't have one of the leds down far enough, so when I re-assembled the panel, the led leads pushed through. This also broke the solder ring that connects the pbc board to the led. Is there any way of fixing this? It is a big ol' mess, and ****es me off. I heard somewhere that there is something you can buy to repair printed circuit boards.

i never heard of something to repair printed circuit boards, but i did see something that you paint on to fix the rear window defrosters. you know those lines on your back window? if they get scratched they don't work, so they sell this metalic paint that completes the circuit. it may work on a printed circuit board as well. if not, just try to find a new window switch at a junkyard.

It is based off the same idea. Basicly the PC board fixer creates bridges for the broken wire track to continue the loop.

Try checking out Radio Shack and see if they can get one in for you.

Or you can just follow where that "lead" goes to on the board. Once you found where it goes to, you can solder a small wire from the base of the LED to that part of the board where it runs to.

Thank you everybody. I was going to try to solder a small wire, but I wasn't sure if I needed any resistors. Now that I think about more, I now know I will not have to use any resistors to go straight from point A to B. Switches are all nice and blue now. Once again, thanks everybody . I am sure I will need more help as I perform other mods. I am new at this, thank goodness for the Org!

The only reason you would need to put a resistor in there is if the connection was broken across one on the board. Other than that it should not be a problem.

Yeah the .org has tons of help on it.
