Thinking about buying a 4th Gen

what should I look for apart from the normal rust, axles stuff?

Really aren;t many if any red flags for this gen Maxima. Teh 95 had some issues with )2 sensors and other minor stuff, but in the past 7 years those issues would have appeared and been fixed. Otherwise just look for records and enjoy. The GXEs can usually be had for very reasonable prices. I have a 95 GXE I bought new. 120K on it and it runs fine.

I would say 97's had bad altenators but actually Nissan is have a recall on them now so you can get it taken care of for free anyway. Overall it is a very nice gen.

True that, but on the cover of my haynes manual theres a red 95-96 max?

I dont think it is red though as much as it is a mix between red and brown. Odd color.

I have the book right in front of me..and ur right. It looks EXACTLY like a crimson blaze but on the back picture its pure maroon.


Anyway...
VQ's last a h3ll of a long time if well maintained.
