Anybody else have electrical connection problems?

Hello, I am the proud owner of an 88 Maxima with just over 173,000 miles. It's still a great running car but it seems that it's prone to electrical problems. I've had several problems with loose wires and connections. For example, the fuse panel had to be taken out and repaired because the fuse connection for the flashers kept coming loose (what the fuse plugs in to). I've had problems with both headlights, 3rd brake light, power mirrors, and even the alternator. The alternator wasn't charging, nor was the alternator light coming on when I turned the key, it turns out that the plug on the alternator had just worked its way loose. Is this a common problem among other g-2 maxima owners?

I've heard that these cars were prone to have a lot of electrical problems, and a lot of the posts relate to some sort of electrical problem. I also heard that a lot of Nissan cars from the eighties were plagued with these sort of problems. But considering Nissan used more electrically operated and computer driven equipment than any other manufacturer of the time, there exists a greater chance for a problem to occur.

I don't know, maybe it was a hit or miss thing, because (knock on wood) my car doesn't have any electrical problems at all. The alternator went out once, I replaced it, and that was the end of that. I also had a problem with the battery terminals (which is another very common problem which usually requires replacement), but I just cleaned off the corrosion and put them back on, problem solved (for now).
