Question to 2K2/2K3 6 Speed Guys

How do you guys like your cars? Are you happy with the decision you made in getting your Maxima? What is it like when you first get to open it up?

Also, what is it like living with it on a daily basis? If it's half as good as my test drive of a 6 speed SE was, it must be automotive bliss...

Thanks.

Re: Question to 2K2/2K3 6 Speed Guys

sadly, i wish i could enjoy it more. i work in the city, so i take the train all week. and only have time to drive over the weekend, which still isn't much cause i try to sleep as much as possible or drink as much as possible, which again leaves my car at home
but on a good note, when i do finally get to drive it, i'm in heaven. the pull is great, and i think the shorter gearing is an advantage. simply the fact that's it's manual transmission would let anyone enjoy driving. you simply cna't enjoy driving with auto..YAWN.

you will love the car....i sure do. every weekend i take it out, it's like a new car again.
had it 6 months, have 6k on it, and that's only cause i went to DC twice, boston twice, and philly 3 times. weekly like under 70 miles.

I could not imagine a better daily driver. Spacious interior, plenty of power, decent stereo (for me ). Get the limited slip differential.

i love mine. i know there are a few silly issues on the car, i dont care. Although i WANT my 15HP! i think the max is the best bang for the buck, and if you go 6spd, get the HSLD. i cant imagine all the power without it....

I think I should have got an AUTO Infiniti I35/G35... Better customer service and my 6 speed not only shifts crappy but is completely unbearable in traffic..

I get caught in traffic so much that i wish i got an auto...

Besides there are some really fast autos out their!!

Eveything you have complained about messing up on your MAX and you would still consider anthing built by NISSAN??????

I love my 6spd Max. My only regret is I couldn't wait that long for G35 Sedan 6spd. But then again I probably wouldn't be able to get as good of a deal from the dealer, because G35 is a very HOT car right now.

I love the Power from the VQ engine, love the stereo that comes with the car, HID, everything.

Only disavantage is the notchy 6spd shifter, but i am getting use to it and I have about 4700Miles on it right now. Almost all the gears are pretty smooth except for when I go from 4th-5th I still get that "Notchy" feeling. I hope Redline MT-90 will help a bit.

Overall I give my Maxima 95/100 points. 2points off for lack off Independent Rear Suspension and 3 points off for Notchy shifter.

Love my Max

Ok, so I can't afford a 330ci -- but this IS the MOST LOGICAL and affordable BANG FOR THE BUCK all-around sports car/sedan on the market.

My BIGGEST GRIPE: those damn Bridgestone RE92's on 7" Rims!!!!!!!

I LOVE the look of the stock rims - but dammit, I want some better RUBBER OPTIONS!!!

5k miles on the ticker, and only minor problems so far (wind deflector, tweeter fade, rattles).

I think the 6 spd tranny is a little notchy, but I can definetly LIVE with it -- it's a hell of alot more fun the auto I had in my 98 se!!!

Enjoy it!

Anyone else with a 6 speed I'd love to read your opinions.

I like my car. This is my 5th new car in the last 10 years and I have to say that I pleased with my decision to buy this car. The breakin period was rough because I wanted to open this thing up to see what it could do. I actually waited until 2,000 miles (3 weeks)to really open it up. All I have to say is WOW! I have never owned any type of car that pulls like my Max 6 speed.
I daily commute is almost 50 miles one way and most of it is highway. I make it a daily routine to open it up every morning on my way to work. I leave my house at 5:00 A.M. when traffic is very light.

My view on the 6 spd tranny

I like manual transmissions. That was one of the main reasons I got the the Max. As being notchy... Well it's not as smooth as the IS300 but it's not that bad. You have to wear it in a bit. Now I have some noise at the front of the car and Nissan says it's the tranny. I will have that fixed by them, that's all.
I have 28,000 km on the car and I have loved every and each one of them. I have an hour drive to work one way and I enjoy it a lot. I think the tranny is well matched to the engine, more importantly to the car. I always have enough power. It seems like that my tranny, as it wears in, got smoother and more precise.
I would get the HLSD for that bit of extra money and maybe pass on on the Bose stereo.

I love mine very much. Almost 15000km in 4 months, no problem to report, and my dealership service is excellent.

My 15000km include a 7000km trip to Florida, and as you can expect, the Max is great for travelling, especially when you have to drive 1100-1200km on 2 consecutives days What we have here is a great blend of performance, comfort and amenities. For the money, it was for me the most logical choice. And so far I have received a lot of good comments from younger and older people about the car.
