audio fuse blows when flooring

i was on the highway today doing about 75mph listening to the cd pretty loudly. when i floored it to pass someone the headunit shut off. i pull over and found that the audio fuse blew so i replaced it. when i was on the onramp i floored it again and the same thing happened. so i put a 15a fuse instead of the 10amp one and it didn't blow again. why would this happen and is it safe to put a higher rated fuse in there?

i have a blaupunkt head unit and xplode speakers. nothing too big. i was thinking maybe the alternator since the fuse blew only when the transmission downshifted and the audio was turned up. but the car drove fine the rest of the 400 miles home. sorry if i sound stupid but what does alternation mean? i'm not a "pro" when it comes to this stuff.

just throwing out ideas.... voltage regulator?

Someone else may be able to elaborate, but it could also just be that the radio is shot.
