Are you talking about maximas or cars in general? I heard the maxima 0-60 for a manual (4th gen) is 6.6 or so and an automatic is 8.0 or so

Re: yea maximas

you wouldn't get killed, but unless the guy couldn't drive a stick, there is no way you would win.

it all depends on the "other" driver

I've beaten a bunch of "faster" manual transmission cars.

My max is the only one I know of that chrips the wheels on the 1-2 shift.

Maybe the next generation will get the automanual???

I have a 96se auto with a JWT intake and just ran my friends 99se-L 5sp all stock. Off the line I had him good at about 70mph he passed me like I hit the brakes, later he said he was spinning badly in 1st and 2nd (the roads were sandy from past snow) there is no comparison at all If he didnt spin he would have embarassed me from the start.

2 things

My tires on my '95max se will chirp 1-2, and... 8.0sec is a little high.. I have read lots of different numbers, and would guess mid to low 7's, maybe a 7.3,7.4 ? Remeber, its the same as a I30, and alittle lighter, so it would be faster than that.. correct?

It wouldn't be a killing, but yes you definately would lose unless the 5spd one can't drive very well.

I heard it was 7.6 for an auto. But if you supercharge it, then you'll be in the 5's.

Mine chirps also. I raced a five speed stock from a 25mph rolling start and I was pretty even w/ him but then after 80mph, he walked me like a bi***, unless you have a y-pipe, b-pipe, perf. muffler and an intake, don't think about going against a STOCK 5spd from a dead stop.
