FYI: OEM and Purolator Oil Filter Comparison

I just completed my first oil change. Very easy on my 2003 since all I had to do was turn the wheels clear to the right, and remove the access panel. Here is a pic of the OEM filter and the Purolator replacement.

Any reason why you are using the Purolator instead of the Nissan oil filter?

I contributed to that tread too!

I didn't use the Nissan filter because it was both small and expensive. Plus, I don't like my dealerships.

Bosch also makes a good filter, but is very tough to find around Reno.

Expensive? You have a 2003, I would stick with Nissan until your warranty runs out or something. If you don't like Nissan dealers now, wait till you have a motor warranty claim

Just keep an OEM filter in your trunk for such a situation and it is not an issue.
