Just bought my first Nissan a 2003 Maxima

Just trade in my 2000 Honda Accord Coupe for a 2003 Maxima SE. As I mentioned this is my first Nissan I have owned and looking to find out more about then.
What is the performace to 60 and 1/4 mile times of a 03max auto, and any good/bad things I should know about my car

I did the same thing. I had an Accord V6 Coupe too and traded for a 2k2 Max 6 Pseed. There is no comparison. This is a much better vehicle. There where things engineered into that Accord that I hated. Then I had a raft of trouble with it. Needless to say I didn't leave with the Honda warm and fuzzies that everyone else seems to get. It did handle better than the Maxima though.

Well my Accord Coupe I loved, the VTEC and 200HP were plenty quick for me and I loved the style. The tranny was seemed weak and I think a real loss in performance.
Well we traded it because we needed a 4 door car and I would agree that the maxima is a better car all around (and a bit more expensive). I would buy another Honda infact I still own a Civic as my commuter car to get to work with, its been a great car.
As far was warm and fuzzies about Honda, I would buy another one, in fact I went to the dealer to look at a 2003 Accord 4door and the guy was screwing me around on my trade in, I told him it was worth me, he told me if you dont like what we will give you, you can find another dealer. So I did.. NISSAN!..
Well my wife isnt feeling well today.. the upside to that is i get to take the Maxima to work

I'm not sure how laborous your commute is, but if you don't sit in traffic all the time, you should have gotten the 6 speed. It's much more fun, and delivers more power than the auto version. However, the auto is also VERY powerful, far and beyond the Accord.

It seems like the car is a hit or miss for most people. Either then end up with a lot of problems (or some problems), or they tend to be trouble-free. Just hope that you got the "good" one.

Overall, VERY nice car.

Hey Jake,
I just got my Max too, and was thinking of putting it on. Do you have it on? What's your experience with it? I'm afraid of getting moisture underneath it, and getting discoloration.

Also, did you install it yourself or had it done professionally? If so, how much did you pay for the install and which parts did you put it on?

Thanks.

Hey Vito, yes i have the 3m clear bra on my Sterling Mist 2K2. Had it professionally installed, as i would never have the patience. Had entire kit installed: hood, bumper, side mirrors,lights/fogs. VERY PLEASED with it. can hardly tell it is even on the vehicle unless your standing right on it.......no discoloration, no moisture gets underneath.......i paid 430.00 for the entire kit, installed. I would highly recommend. Had a couple of chips first month i had car..(11/01) 0 chips since bra was installed.

Jake,
does the $430.00 include the actual bra, or just the labor? Did you have to order the bra yourself, and then just bring it in to the shop to have it installed? Also, is there some sort of warranty on the bra? Thanks for the info.

Thanks. Thats a pretty good deal. On X-pel both kits cost roughly $300. I just got my a 2k3 Max SE about a month ago and I'm getting all sorts of scratches on my bumper, not so much my hood so I really need this clear bra. I'm thinking about just putting it on myself. I don't think its too hard judging from the write ups on X-pel's website.

Yeh, that price isn't bad. In Boston, I'm being quoted $550 from both places listed on xpel.com. This would include the entire front (headlights, foglights, hood, bumper, fender) and the side mirrors. I may have no choice but to dish out the cash cause I surely don't wanna mess it up by installing myself. If anyone has done the install in MA for cheaper than $550, please let me know (PM or post here, whichever).

Thanks.
