bright finish on 2003 TE wheels/rims

Do any of you guys know if that bright finish that comes with the 2003 Titanium Edition wheels lasts a long time? Or does it just wear off after a while, and they tend to look like the regular rims? Also, what do they use to get that shiny look?

Thanks .org'ers

Not sure what they used...but a similar finish is on my Anniversary Edition wheels. I've had my Max for going on two years now and the finish is still strong.

The rims are "polished". Im not sure how they do it but I know it doesnt wear off and will always look that way if you take care of them. If youll notice a lot of cars are coming out with rims like this. Check out the new BMW Z4's and when I was shopping for my Max I was also looking at the Lex IS 300 and they come with an otpion for "polished" rims.

I have an '02 SE and would trade in my chrome dipped stock rims for the polished ones if I could.

If it is like the AE wheels, it is not just polished. It is like some kind of really thick clear coated material is on the wheel. I know, one of my wheels got a rock pit on it and you can see the cross section.

The finished product of putting on that "thick clear coated material" is called polished. Its more than just wheel wax is what I meant, but it is called a polished rim. There are company's that all they do is coat metals to give it that "polished" look.
