reverse indiglo question

http://www.custommaxima.com/IndigloRev0203.htm

i'm thinking of getting this. this may be a stupid question, but will just the guages themselves be white during the day, or will the ENTIRE DASH be white? anyone install this kit yet?

man, i've been asking a lot of questions today.

What do you mean entire dash? The only thing you replace is the gauges, so that will be what is white during the day.

i guess what i mean by guages is any area that any needles would be able to touch. what i don't want to be white is the area OUTSIDE OF the fuel guage, temp, speedo and tach. take a look at the link if you haven't done so already. sorry that i wasn't so clear in my first post.

Okay now i get what you are saying. I'm pretty sure that the white covers the whole gauge cluster like it shows on the web site. You could get a gauge bezel to cover up most of it though. Theres info in the GD section about them I think. 2k2+ owners correct me if I'm wrong...

I don't know if your wrong, so I wouldn't call this a correction, but by the looks of it, the plastic bezel that we have goes over the indiglo gauges, so only the gauges themselves and those areas for the lights will be white (the check engine/door ajar/fuel light etc.). If you look at your current gauges closely, you'll see the thin plastic bezel I'm talking about. Just my guess. Maybe can mail Greg and ask him to look at the installation instructions to find out.

Plastic Bezel

On the 2000-2001 model, there is a plastic bezel that goes around the gauges. This would lay on top of any after market gauges you would put in. Might I make one suggestion? When I had my regular indiglo gauges installed, I asked the guys to only install the "needle" gauges. In other words, only the speedo, tach, temp, and fuel. I think leaving the other areas on the dash in black really made it look sharp. And here again, I have to appologize for not having pics. I have been trying to get one more mod done before I "borrow" the company digitial camera to take my pics for CarDomain.

Young04: "hahaha, sweet. did you have it installed professionally? if so, how much should i expect to pay?"

I paid around $70.00 to have them installed. This was pretty steep. But, it took them a long while to do it. And they usually charge $80 an hour. So, I really got off lucky. My main concern was not that I couldn't do the install, but that if I screwed up the needles, I would have to replace the whole cluster. $$$$$!

jeremy96gase: "Do these 01-02 gauges work in the 00 Max?"

I am not sure. I would think that an 01 set of gauges would. But, I am not sure. I would ask CustomMaxima.com. Their technical support staff should be able to answer this. If I had to guess, I would tell you that young04 is correct in saying that 00-01 get regurlar indiglo, and 02-03 get the reverse. In fact, I am not even sure if CustomMaxima.com sells the regular indiglo gauges for 00-01. They didn't sell indiglo for anything above a 99 when I had mine installed. I got mine from someone on Ebay. But you might ask them. I would feel more comfortable ordering from them, than someone on Ebay. However, you gotta do what ya gotta do. Good luck!
