On my 89 SE, the temp gage always seems to start off reading normally but then will bottom out intermittently. A well-placed slap to the dash usu. brings it back to performance but not always.

First thought was a loose connector but I checked all connections under the dash and all seemed OK (I don't know which one is related to this instrument). Anyway, because the pattern is predictable (NEVER an issue when I start the car cold) I thought it may be something else.

Anyone have any ideas? Tks
