GD on copper head gaskets (4th Gen)

I have contacted a company about making a copper head gasket for the 4th gen motor. They are willing to make it for us, normally there is a $75/hour enginering fee but with 10 people they will waive it. So if we can get 10 people they will make it for us for $90 each. They can make a thicker gasket also in enough people are inetested if not it will be stock thickness. If there are any questions PM me and I will get find out for you.

Will a "4th gen" head gasket fit on a 2002? At the very least the gaskets should be the same for 95-01. If the gasket will work on my 2002 then count me in.

I think they should fit for up to a 2001 but I wasen't positive so CYA I figured. I'll check and see if they are the same gasket up 2002 and let you know.

The point of the copper gasket is to make a total seal under heavy compression on N/A and boosted engines. SCE usually charges $350-$400 for engineering fees so to have the gasket blueprinted and copied into thier system. It takes about 3 weeks for them to do it and ship them out. What they will do if there is interest is give me a date which should be 3 weeks so this way people can call up and pay them. Once they get atleast 10 people they make them and ship them out.

I'm sorry for the long delay, I finally called the nissan dealer and found out the VQ30DE has a seperate headgasket from the VQ30DE-K and the VQ35DE has a seperate head gasket also, so I can get the head gaskets made but I'll need ten gaskets to make the order. I can get them made any time so when (if) I get enough orders I'll call SCE to get them made.

Will yo notice anything with this or is it just to make the engine more built?

They will be OEM thickness so there will be no gains, the purpose of it is to keep compression under high levels of boost.

For the 4th gen we would have 3 sets (need 5 to make), but if Turbo95Max is out because he's putting in a stock motor we are down to just you.

So once they have the basic dimensions entered, is their an additional engineering charge to make a thicker version of a gasket?

There is no new engineering charge for a thicker or thinner gasket. Once the have the the OEM gasket they can modify the design to your needs.
