New Lug Nuts Required?

Guys, I know this may sound simple to most of you, but I could not find the answer in FAQ. I am changing from 16" to 17" wheels. Can I use the stock lug nuts or will new ones be required? The lug nuts are closed on the end, so I thought if the 17's are thicker, then I may need new lug nuts. Also, I am changing from a regular alloy wheel to a Graphite Pearl (like a polished darker grey). So, if I wanted to buy new lugs and wheel locks, where would I buy them and are they marked by size or vehicle type or what?

Great Christmas: New Wheels and New 6-Disk Changer both coming soon!!!

Thanks for any help given,

Jim

I think it depends on what kind of seat is on the rims. I believe the stock lug nuts are acorn shaped so it worked fine when I changed my rims.

In other words, can't give you a definete yes or no. Sorry.

type

The type of lug nuts you need depend on the type of wheel you choose. The people you buy your rims from will know what type you need. The studs on your hubs do not change, so the threads will remain the same,it's just that depending on the wheel it may take a certain size outer lug to fit the wheel.

depends... what kind of wheels? They may require tuner style lugs. If you need colored tuner lugs, get the McGard splinedrive lugs... they come in black to match darker wheels...
