What??? They don't have Gumout? Every auto place at least has Gumout, both in Carb cleaner and TB cleaner.

Don't use Carb Cleaner on yout TB unless you want to strip the coating off. Carb cleaner is an excellent solvent, in fact, too excellent for certain stuff like paint and special coatings.

I honestly don't believe in this removing of coating myth. I know lots of people that bore out aluminum intake manifolds and throttle bodies, and they don't recoat these components afterwards, and never have problems.

I would be concerned with the fact that this is a carb cleaner that does not specifically say O2 sensor friendly. No point using something that will clean out your intake at the expense of multuple, hundred dollar O2 sensors.

The coating supposedly prevents, or slows down the process of carbon buildup. Without the lining, the manifold will get all gunked up with carbon sooner rather than later. In other words, with the coating missing, carbon will build up over time, more quickly than usual. Not instantly.

Safest bet is to use Throttle body cleaner, and in the fine print somewhere it will read "safe for feul injected engines." or something like that. That's what I did.

How exactly does carbon get on the throttle body to begin with? Especially since the fuel is injected near the intake ports and not anywhere near the throttle body. Is it from backfiring, or from just crap in the air, or from the PCV system? Those are the only things I can think of.
