brakes upgraded -- pics

well i just got done upgrading my brakes. my brakes were SHOT so i figured it was a good time to get some good stuff on there. i started at about 3 in the afternoon and finished up at about 10:30. that includes drying time for the calipers, a trip to the parts store because i received two sets of front metal master pads, and a dinner break. everything went smoothly except for compressing the pistons on the rear calipers. i had to kind of turn the piston while clamping it down to get the pads in there to put back on the rotor. but other than that it was all good. the parts i put on are...
Brembo x-drilled/slotted rotors
Goodridge SS Lines
Axxis Metal Master Pads
Eastwood Black Caliper Paint

well here are a few of the many pics i snapped off.

let me know how it looks.

Re: brakes upgraded -- pics

The rear pistons are threaded and you do have to turn them to get them to retract. A pair of needle-nosed pliers works best.

$149 for each pair plus $50 pads. Im planning on just doing the front roters/pads for now.

Requin6- do these roters show rust alot around where the hub is at like how the stock roters do? I had to paint my stock ones silver because I dont like looking at the rust.

That looks great man. I recently bought a similar setup as you but Stillen rotors. I held off on putting the SS lines on because I have heard they can be a major pain in the butt to install. Did you have any trouble installing yours? Anything special to remember about putting them on? I would like to do them over Christmas break. Was break bleeding pretty easy?

well i have only had them on for 3 days now, i really couldnt tell you if they will show rust. but i know the stockers are pretty nasty with the rust.

no trouble at all, just have a bucket or can ready to catch the running brake fluid. you will most likely need a 10mm line wrench because the fittings are brass and are easily stripped by a normal open end wrench. make you sure liquid wrench the fitting that is fixed to the frame of the car. and also the banjo bolts that come with the goodridge lines arent the best of quality. i actually broke the head off the first one, i just used the stock ones after that. bleeding the brakes wasnt too hard. i have done it before on another car...just make sure you start at the rear wheels (farthest from the master cylinder) and clear the air out of those first and then move to the front. let me know how it turns out!!

yes as a matter a fact i do. i just got done with 500 miles of break in braking. for the first 300 miles the brakes were mushy and took a lot of pedal to stop the car. but it seemed like as soon as the 300 miles hit the car came to a hault quickly. the pedal is nice and firm and the braking distance is MUCH shorter than stock. in everyday driving i am having to adjust because i am coming up to my stops much shorter. in spirited driving they stop like no other. i am tickled with the way these brakes are performing. there are no squeeks/squeals and the dusting doesnt seemt to be any different than the nissan pads that were on previously. at first i was a tad weary, but now they are just perfect.
