2k max auto vs 99 grandprix auto

Ive always wanted to race my friend that has a grand prix and i always thought he would beat me bc he has a 3.8L but today i just happened to see him on the road so and he was behind me and i was pulling up to a red light so i get over and he pulls up next to me, so i asked him wassup with a race now? and he said ok so when the light turned green we went and i pulled on him thru first and some of second then he shut down when he was just about to fall behind my bumper. Im glad we didnt go any faster bc my suspension still isnt fixed from the accident. My car is going in the shop jan 6. But now im thinking should i keep it or try and get a six speed 3.5 next year??

The 3.8 L grand prix, especially less a SC is a tank, not to mention slow. Who cares which would be faster anyhow? And why are you racing with a broken suspension? Grow up.

Couldn't you at least TRY not to sound like a complete d!ck when responding to people?

These posts are retarded. Have you anything meaningful to say on his behalf, other then I'm a ****? It seems people post THIS vs THIS

i mean ok

Hey guys I just got into a race with a golf cart... I pulled on him and then... blah blah blah.

I didn't buy my maxima to drag race, especially huge american cars that are slow.

If you don't like the Maxima vs. xxx posts, don't read them. It's pretty simple, and you could've avoided making such an as$hole of yourself. Yes, you are a ****.

Well then, would it be too much to ask for you NOT to respond to a topic that you don't like. I'm not usually into the "street racing" threads either, but I do read them sometimes, and even {{GASP}} respond once in a while. BUT... I don't post just to belittle someone else. You were obviously angered by what I said about your post, so imagine how 200MilkedMax feels when you talk **** to him. (By the way... I didn't call you a d!ck, and I didn't intend to... I said that your reply made you "sound like a d!ck", that's all) I'm not on your case, personally. It just seems like a lot of the fellowship of the .org is being kicked to the curb by some people. All I'm saying is, if you don't like the topic, then don't respond to it. After all, the more we respond, the longer it will stay on the front page. P E A C E ! ! !

It actually isn't that much of a tank - it's still a 10th or two faster than an automagic 2k/2k1.. don't forget it's a 3.8 pushrod; it's MEANT to be pushed from zero. The Maxima driver was just a better driver, that's all

I went out with the GP guys once with my Max, and the guy with a Regal LS (also the 3.8L N/A) ran a 15.2 - not too shabby at all. Someone with a 3.1L ran a 16.1 (they had the option of the 3.1 in the GP when it got redesigned in '97).

So err... how about you grow up and do some research first before telling others to do so?

to 2000mikedmax: if he was GT or SE version you would have just kept on pulling the faster and faster you got. my mom has a 99 GrandPrix GT and it pulls hard off the line, but after about 40mph it doggs out. i have never raced her car, but before i got my max i raced my friend in his delsol with the GP and lost by a car or 2, reraced him with my max, same strip, his car was the same as well and i pulled 4-5 cars upto around 110. watch out for the GTP tho, those are pretty quick, i raced and beat my first one a couple months ago, this may sound hypacritical but, be careful street racing, it should be done at all, but most do it anyway, so just be safe where you do it, if u must.

wow, 15.2 out of a regal LS N/A, what was in it??

Bone stock. Their Regal GS was hit head on by an impaired driver on a 2-lane highway; it managed to break into 13's with a cone and pulley.... the insurance company screwed them over and gave them enough for the LS non supercharged (their two year no-depreciation coverage had just expired by less than a week).

I didn't believe it until I saw it happen again... never under-estimate north american torque

Wow dude, learn to use punctuation. And if you really want a 3.5, better start working on Daddy to buy you one.

His daddy didn't buy him anything and won't be buying him a 3.5 if he gets one. He's in the Navy and worked for what he has. Don't comment on something you know nothing about.

i have a 02 max, and beat a GTP. its fast at the line, but started to pull on him end of 2nd gear, and beat him by too much at 100. i think a 2k or 2k1 should keep up with a GTP. BTW, i had my GF in my car, so that doubles the weight... im not trying to be mean to my gf, but just telling some facts... had an extra 240 pounds in the car, and im only 110.

i just wanted to throw down a "congrats on killing a POS pontiac." those cars **** me off - i think i just know too many jerks that drive them, or witness too many morons thinking they're the bomb in them on the freeway - but i'm always happy to see one get shut down for being the domestic, low-quality POS that it is. nice job!

no hating, no dissing. just here to spread the love...

i'm personally a big fan of the 2k but the 6spds are hella fast and would be a ton of fun. an extra .5 liters never hurts, either...
