close to over heating

ive noticed the past few nites my car is runnin exceptionally hot..like touching the line jus befpore that lil box type of thin next to the H, normally it runs at jus passed the mid way point. i notices a lil radiator fliud on the radiator near the battery side hose. so i figured maybe i have a small leak and i'll jus top the fluid off. no change. it runs a lil cooler when im om the highway. ive bridged the center fan relay to make both fans run constanlty..easily returned to stock (jus plug the relay back in) and still no change. im think bout pulling my old radiator out and puttin it in this car if i find it has a leak. im not sure wut to do. could it possible be the thermostat? and wut is that lil sensor thing that plugs into the top of the radiator nea the cap? i really dont wanna ruin this car so i havent been driving much lately to prevent further harm.

Flush the system, and do a pressure test. If you still have problems afterwards, you could have a bad thermostat. If your leaking, by the hose, replace the hose and see if it still loses fluid. The pressure test will definately help find if you have a leak.
