I was trying to add a sub to our pathfinder (bose). Using that mid-line powered Bazooka 8 (el8hp something), I was able to get some really decent lowend out of it. Unfortunately, it sounded like the 6 3/4 speakers were leaving a huge gap.. (the PF is the exact same setup as a 4th gen, right down to the speakers) The bazooka is set at 85hz @ 18 db. Again, it was definately putting some deep bass, but no midbass to meet the factory speakers. I wanted to just add some tight kick to the system.

My thinking is I should go for a 8 in a sealed box instead of a bazooka tube. This sound right?

 

yeah, 85 hz is what i'd prefer on 12's, maybe 10's. for 8's i'd opt for 100-125. it just depends on how high you want it to go. but to at least get substantial performance outta the 8, go up to at least 100.

 

ooops, I forgot to ask sealed AND crossed over at 120.
