I believe it's on the dash on the right side, up near the window. Don't quote me on this....

From the '02 shop manual...

"The ambient sensor is attached to the radiator core support. It
detects ambient temperature and converts it into a resistance value
which is then input to A/C auto amp. and board computer."

It is right below and to the left of the hood latch. Mine has a yellow connector.

if its in regard to your Auto Climate Control, DaveB was just saying on Friday that their is a discrepancy between what the FSM says and what we really have. (and part number availability)

you might want to call him as he was fairly sure that many other Nissan dealers would be stumped by this. Also, there does seem to be a few going out.

I was referring to the sensor that reads ambient outside air temperature that reads out on our dash. I don't have Auto Climate Control.

caremd99,

That's what I wanted to know. I'll see if I can find it tomorrow. Just seems like it reads a little high and then cools off after driving. That explains it if it is close to the radiator.

don't know where it is...but I think when you first get in your car it sometimes reads high because greenhouse affect warms up your car, and the sensor is close to the cabin...when i've been driving for 20+ minutes I always notice banks and radio stations claiming the same temp as my car shows...but usually not when I first turn it up...

and sometimes it's a little high cuz i'm in the garage...but that's cause it's warm in the garage...silly me..
